“They better hope I don’t win a championship in Portland…” — Dame with one of the realest convos ever w/ Evan Turner

Lillard: “They’ll never give me the credit for what I’ve actually done unless I come out here and just win a championship in Portland. And they better hope that don’t happen. They better pray I don’t win a championship for the Blazers…”

They gotta get it at least once in the Dame era and it’s a good thing there’s still plenty of time. But I wonder where he would rank All-Time with a title added to his resume…

Dame is Top 75, probably in #30-45 region.

With a ring in Portland, he climbs to Top 20-30 due to his clutch legacy, shooting capability, and scoring.

I really loved the episode, great insight on the foundation of his mindset and the way he want to keep spreading the knowledge to the youngers trought his camp

Dames mentality on winning a chip is always there, he’s playing good enough to where a competent team would allow him to compete for one

Problem is it’s a team sport and the whole roster/FO top down needs to be fully committed to make it happen. For now it’s only in their words but not actions

If Lillard wins a ring for Portland, I guarantee that the media will glorify him and will ride that bandwagon for as long as they can, with Stephen A holding the reigns.

Weak ass front office that doesn’t even help and try

He’ll just get slammed for not winning multiple titles. One won’t be enough for naysayers.

I would say roughly in the same group as Dirk who is in the 20-40 range on most lists. So for Dame maybe the top 30-40 and among the top 5-10 PGs ever. Let’s say if he gets a ring as a top 1-2 option on a team he probably jumps CP3, Payton, Kidd, Harden (if you consider him a PG), and maybe even Stockton. Especially if his career is long enough and he has 3-4 more high level seasons in him.

Edit: Top 4 PG: Magic, Curry, Oscar, Isiah. Stockton as 5th. Then Nash, Kidd, Payton, CP3, Harden group to make the top 10. Wild card is West as he slots in at 3 if you count him as a PG. Lillard is currently in the 10-15 range at PG.

I may or may not cry internal thug tears if Dame wins a chip

Anybody I run into better hope that Dame and the Blazers don’t get that ring. I would start many conversations with “you all see Dame get that ring?!?!?”

maaaaaan that was a dope interview. We are so lucky.

Side note: that sweatsuit was dope, anyone recognize it? Would totally rock it.

If Dame brings a Championship to Portland, they won’t be able to build a big enough statue to honor him.
