JDub took another step forward last night. First he proved he can score 20-25 pts w/out Shai. Now even more impressive he proved he can get those pts even when Shai is taking a lot of shots. JDub has such a unique physical advantage. He has a Wingspan thats in the middle of O.Dieng & Chet while having a muscle mass almost as impressive as Dort.
30 isn’t even needed. He’s averaging like 14 for the season. If, he can get to 19 and keep this efficiency, that ALONE is enough to win us every game we lost by 5. Without Chet.
I am very curious to see how Poku looks now as he looks bigger. Chet definitely looks much bigger. And then Ousmane is starting to mature and will big. Boston Celtics from the 50’s and 60’s 2.0
What’s really exiting is Sam Presti and his talent identification. Also the acquisition of Vince Rozman from the 76ers it makes the number of draft picks we have even more lethal.
These two guys have the ability to see talent where others don’t believe talent exists.
The NBA is littered with latter round picks that become blue chip studs where the early 1st rounders whilst impressive in college fall away in the pros.
Would love your thoughts on the impact of Chip Engerland on the team so far this season
I am excited about how this could develop, these three are so talented but they are also supported by a team that accepts their roles, Mark what books are on the bookshelf mate, or is this Aussie not allowed to ask?
I don’t think J dub gets 30 points per game, I doubt he gets enough shots per game next year with Chet coming back + whoever we draft ( I have us trading up) it’s gonna be hard to get 30 points when you are the 3rd option ( SGA, Chet) I would love to see it tho!
Man I was all in on J Dub predraft and when you look at his college stats, he did it on very good efficiency. I think J Dub will quickly bet the second best player on this team, depending on Chet
J Dub is the next "How did so many teams let him fall so far" guy 😂 OKC front office has been hitting eith all their draft picks and trades the last 4/5 years
Dieng needs a lot more credit than he's getting he's starting to look really good especially for a 19 year old who wasn't supposed to do anything this year… From when he got draft he's gotten light-years better and Poku is back now to that's gonna be huge for us if he picks up where he left off or plays better…
hurts my soul that we didnt get to see chet. i watched him since his minnehaha days. dude is a major problem solver and high iq swiss army knife. hope this rehab time has also helped with a more focused training routine
Your statistical projections for next year are off in my opinion because there simply isn’t enough numbers to go around with a team this good. I’m as high on all these guys are you are and they will be great but numbers have a ceiling.
JDub could average 28-30 ppg if that was the plan, but we have to factor Chet in next year. It’s the efficiency we can project but overall totals can’t meet your expectations.
I’ll take a stab at next years total with our big 4 to give you an idea of what I’m thinking.
Basically, I think they can all improve without the leap in overall numbers proving it. Efficiency and team success will be where the results show.
I look for Giddey’s assists to go up and points down because his playmaking is his best asset and he’s good at converting drives in to buckets…. But SGA and Jdub are elite so this analytics driven franchise will play more and more to their strengths. Also, probably 3-4 would be Giddey floaters will instead be Chet lobs in the future.
Just my opinion 😀. I appreciate the positivity and I see the same numbers capabilities from our guys that you do… I just don’t them reaching their overall number ceilings your project considering their projected usage in the future.
Regarding the ability to get to the line, it’s about much more than reputation.
SGA has moves in the paint followed by infinite counter moves. Last night he went into the paint and made a couple counter moves off of his initial move and appeared to be going up for a short midrange jumper, only that was a fake and he was going into yet another counter move and drew a foul because the defender behind him left his feet thinking for sure he had exhausted all the moves in his arsenal on that particular drive already.
He’s the greatest mentor for Dub and Giddey.
Dub has a lot in his arsenal when he drives but still nowhere near SGA’s arsenal. Giddey has less but has added some. He’s still way to dependent on the move in which he starts hard to the left and spins to the right around the free throw line. If you noticed late in the Boston game earlier this year when we had a lead on the road he got his pocket picked 3 times on that same move in the 4th quarter.
My point is the key to to Dub and Giddey getting fouled more is learning and perfecting a variety of counter moves off of their go to moves. They are so young. They’ve already expanded their arsenal… and they will get there.
SGA already has as good as or better a variety of counter moves in the paint as Kobe ever did. I grew up in LA and watched damn near every game Kobe ever played so I’m not using that complement naively.
Dub and Giddey have the best mentor possibly. On and off the court.
Awesome game. Levels to come. Think about this guys. Imagine you are anyone at all on the OKC roster. Now imagine a part of your game you need to improve the most. There is someone already in the team to push you top tier in that skill you need.
Here is a little fun fact I worked out last night. If Michael Jordan had played his retirement years, and not had his Sophomore injury or his Wizards injury, he would have had a total points score of…. 46,721 Points. That's 479 games @ 38..3 minutes per game @ 78.65 points per 100 minutes. LeBron is on 38,450 @ 71.42 points per 100 minutes. (I'm not hating, jus saying).

Idk who's gonna be better chet or jdub! That's a very good thing!

Watching Jdub ascend to greatness is going to be fucking exciting!!!
J Dub will be better than Cade Cunningham.
JDub!!!! 😊 Watching play is fun, I am paying more attention on his game now.

Hey man, yall got a discord or s facebook group?
Just wait till J-Dubb gets his 3 point shooting percentages up

I appreciate you guys taking strong stances that go against the casual fans’ takes.
I just looked up Paulo Bancaro's stats it is not that impressive as a matter of fact it has been on a downward trajectory

You are so fucking right. J-dub has arrived. This team is going to break the league!
What do you guys do for a living and how did you end up living in different states?
Well the statline jdub had last night puts him there next to lebron and jordan to do that as a rookie which is crazy to say
Man I’m looking forward to Poku coming back and Dieng getting more minutes.

If you had to pick just 1 out of J Dub and Dort, who would you choose?
In Presti We Trust

Points, Rebounds, Assists…
SGA: 28, 6, 5
Giddey: 14, 8, 10
JDub: 22, 7, 4
Chet, 17, 12, 5 (3.5 Blocks)
Basically, I think they can all improve without the leap in overall numbers proving it. Efficiency and team success will be where the results show.

Thunder got a nice core building. Chet hasn't even tapped in yet.
Jdub 30ppg ? I love those guys but let’s not get too ahead of ourselves 😭 I do believe he can average in between 24-26ppg next year tho seriously
True Shooting percentage
Denver Nuggets Loyola Marymount Paul Westhead run 'n gun Orlando Woolridge Michael Adams
125-130 ppg
Dort hockey-assist
Awesome game. Levels to come.

30ppg is probably too high for jdub next year, I’d prolly say closer to 20 cause Chet is coming next year which takes away points as well
The eye test suggests JDub is really special. I’d rather not get into comparisons. He’s quite unique very fun to watch. I agree with you.
JDub reminds me of Jalen Brown he could reach that kind of career but Williams could also become the 2nd coming of SGA too.
