A contrasting look at franchise construction with Kane Pitman from Locked On Bucks

Adam Armbrecht and Kane Pittman cross-over for a conversation about the chaos of the superstar era in Brooklyn, and if the new look Nets could see the Bucks in the post-season.
It is a fun back and fourth that reveals the “boring nature” of covering a franchise always in the championship hunt, but rarely in the headlines.
Kane gets some insight on the roller-coster ride for Nets fans and if there is a sense of optimism going forward. On the other side, Adam poses the question of when a “big change” could come for a team that is by no means old, but certainly has some age(and injuries) on its roster.

  1. Brooklyn doesn't need to construct a roster similar to the Bucks. No one can do what Giannis does.

What Brooklyn has improved in that was their biggest weakness was their defense. Mikal Bridges is a fun skilled two way player that can score and defend well. Cam Johnson has shown he can create his own buckets and defends well too. Nic Claxton has bulked up his muscle and has had his best defensive season of his career.

Those three skilled defenders are a great foundation to build around. Spencer dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith have played well and brought a balance to the Nets roster.

Given that Ben Simmons is more likely to be traded with another player contract and some draft picks, whoever Brooklyn gets in return which could be a young scoring all star player, this Nets team next season could be very tough 🔥.

  2. Adam…I agree with your take on Ben Simmons. Right now he is practically worthless until his health issues are taken care of if that’s possible.

  3. Trading Ben Simmons makes zero sense. Just eat the money over the next few yrs. Giving up valuable draft assets just to get rid of Ben makes zero sense

  4. So why are we keeping the guy who traded 7 first rounders for fat harden
Then traded fat harden for Ben Simmons who might not play basketball again. Traded Sadiq bey for landry shamet. Has no clue that the nets need depth at center. Then doesn’t trade curry and watanabe even though we not signing them next year.
