[Charania] Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball will undergo a third surgery on his left knee that is expected to cost him most, if not all, of the 2023-24 season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The sides are optimistic of the procedure reviving Ball’s career. πŸ™πŸ½

No way he’s already ruled out for next season

  2. BrownsAndCavs

That poor fucking guy he was looking so nice too

  3. HokageEzio

D Rose knees would be an improvement at this point, jeez.

  4. harden4mvp13

Gah dayum wasn’t this supposed to only be like a couple of week type of injury

  5. airmagswag

Holy shit. Glad he got a payday this is fucking awful

  6. BBallHunter

Tough to read, hope he recovers well afterwards.

Absolutely brutal for both lonzo and the bulls

Damn. That sucks. I hope he can revive his career. You never know. A lot of people stuck a fork in Grant Hill but he still came back and was a great vet. Hope Lonzo can do the same.

Gahdamn what the fuck happened to his knees

  10. StalkingDwarf

Damn that’s awful. Forget basketball, hope that knee doesnt impact his quality of life too much.

Already ruled out for next season. Would make it almost 3 full years between his injury and supposed return at this point. He’s done

I’m just hoping the guy can do normal stuff like go up stairs at this point let alone play basketball.

Hope he can have a Sean Livingston type comeback someday

  14. Bulls really can’t catch a break with injuries to their star Guards. Hopefully this surgery can help get him back up and living with no pain. Sucks seeing Zo sidelined for so long

Hope he makes a swift recovery and that it doesn’t set his career back too much.

Dude this is so fucking sad. Obviously he had some good moments in New Orleans, but he seemed like he was really enjoying his teammates & basketball in Chicago… all for that to blow up to dust within half of a season. Not to mention all the work he put in, to become a player that teams wanted. One of the few players that I’ve followed from HS, and now I get to watch his career end in Chicago… such a sad fucking day. Hopefully he can get to a point of enjoying personal life

Goddamn. Hoping he has a career arc more like DRose upon recovery rather than Jonathan Issac. This is brutal news.

i mean, i hope he can return at some point, but this has just been a disaster for the Bulls. 80 Million to a guy who has played half a season. even if this final surgery fixes his problems he will only have one year on that contract after not playing basketball for 2.5 years and will likely need a lot of time to find his game again.

Not really sure what we do as a franchise with him on the books. It’s not worth trading him because nobody will give anything of value back. And it’s tough to try and still build a championship team with that much dead cash. I feel like we should just move on from this core at this point and try to build up as many assets as we can while we develop Pat, Ayo, Dalen, and Coby. Thee is an argument for keeping Lavine around, but if we do and we only trade Demar/Caruso/sign and trade Vooch, we won’t have that many assets to rebuild with. IDK, all around a really sucky situation with no clear signals or solutions

This ain’t even about ball no more. I just hope he’s able to recover to where he’s able to do physical activity normally

Brandon Roy played 326 over a 6 year span.

Lonzo has played 252 over a 5 year span and is already ruled out for next season.

I mean Jesus man this is fucked
