Only thing that works is what no else is doing. Or u have players with extreme skills that teams can't guard. That's how u win, 30 teams copying each other makes for losing basketball
As far as I'm concerned this was visual proof that if they can't mesh together Duren needs to be the starter. Looking at both of them play together it's clear he just has more basketball ability and affects the game in more ways than Wiseman does. He did a much better job defensively, displayed amazing passing skills, superior athleticism, ball handling, and endless motor. Wiseman is a nice piece, but Duren is a prodigy.
Well Ku, I think that the Pistons playing two bigs will work! It's a matter of whether or not dwane Casey will play the right lineup. I'll have to see what the roster is going to look like going into next season, but right now, if the Pistons were fully healthy I know who I would start. I also know who I would bring off the bench. It's so sad the way that the Pistons coaches keep wasting The rosters year after year. 🤦 I know the Pistons could be a very good team if the coaches would just play the right lineups. So like I said I have to see how the roster is going to look for next season, but depending on who stays and who goes, I'll probably have a pretty good idea who should start next season and who should come off the bench as well. So I have to see. Anyway my main point being as far as whether or not the two bigs will work, depends on if dwane Casey starts the right lineup.😎🏀
The NBA should strongly consider launching a classic NBA channel for old games because everyone does not always want to watch a game full of three pointers taken. Big men & guards have basically flipped roles.
You may be right in the long run but come on man that sample size was to small to justify that rant…Duren is special, he has a very bright future. He is very solid and strong….I agree with you. Wiseman shouldn't be trying to beat anyone one on one unless it's a clear mismatch. Pistons should have take notes on Jokic was used. They created a lot of mismatches for him. I also agree wise needs to get stronger and make better decisions. He also needs to learn the offense and set better screens.

Wiseman had 9rbs, and Duren had 13. They weren’t the reason the Pistons were outrebounded. Duren had more boards than anyone on the floor. Jokic had a 10 ribs and those were the top 3 rebounders from the game.
I think that take is objectively false but I agree that their offense doesn’t look at crisp with two bigs. That linueup is a lot different with Cade, Ivey, and even Bojan though.

I hate to say that this game proves nothing about prospect of a two big line up.
Pistons are a bad, young team of raw talent. Any lineup experimentation is going to look rough until they work out the kinks and get experience.
We all know Wiseman has a way to go in working on awareness on both ends of the ball. Duren just got back from injury. Etc.
It is like when last year people said that Jerami couldn’t play next to Bey when he returned from injury. Well we still lost games. But it was neither a huge success or a colossal mess.
I just think you have to have a low bar for the immediate results of Duren next to Wiseman. Two bigs is simply not an experiment in a vacuum, it deals with who Pistons face, the plays, the other guys on the floor, and their individual performances that game.
Remember Duren was in foul trouble before they put the two together. That definitely impacted rebounding against a guy like Jokic.
Testing out these rotations isn’t an all or none sort of endeavor. There are nuances and facets that can be gleaned and learned from that have actual valuable for the future of the team.
Take Duren’s lobs to Wiseman, this can be potentially leveraged to Duren lobs to Wemby.
Even if the +/- or team rebounding will have bad stretches, there are still valuable facets to use what little remains in a tanking season with a depleted roster to just experiment.
There is more than enough reasons to have patience in Wiseman and Duren pairings, if you can have patience in individual player development, you should have some level of patience in 2 big lineups.
It doesn’t have to be the end all be all, but there is clearly something to be said about the value of this specific pursuit in itself. The league today is all about positional versatility, and any minor growth in that facet is worth it.
Well Wiseman (deservedly so) is playing 30 min a night no matter what for the rest of the season so if you're cool with Duren getting 18 then we wont worry about 2 big lineups. I'd rather they play 8-10 min together for the remainder of this pathetic season so Duren keeps developing.
Ivey struggled tonight becuase he cant make an open 15 ft shot not because 2 big lineups
Luckily for you Casey loves playing 4 tiny point guards with a center night in night out which has us constantly getting crushed on the glass so 2 big lineups wont be the norm
I don’t mind them playing two bigs. At this point, tanking for Vic is the plan lol. But next year I wouldn’t wanna see it. Wiseman should back up duren next year
C'mon man have a little faith in some old school ball. It could become trend settings I mean Wiseman can utilize his scoring and be a PF but Duren has the capability and capacity to become better offensively as well
Ku it is not fair for you to evaluate WIseman and Duren ability to play together base strictly on the offensive side of the game. Defensively they have shown together they have the size to protect the rig and rebound and when Stewart comes back next season. The perfect starting lineup would be Duren and Stewart? and Wiseman and Bagley off the bench but size do matter because if we do not rebound and protect the paint we are not going to win even when Cunningham return. The days of Stewart Bojan and the former Piston Bey in the starting front court was a joke we were too small. Now we are dominating in the paint with Duren and Wiseman. Let them just keep developing and it will all fall in place
Can judge this off one game dude. Don't forget we don't even have a healthy roster. Also Ivey can't finish at the basket because he too out of control even when no bigs are in there and decision making as well. There are times when he has a lane and can blow by his defender but he settles for a jump shot. The only person who can consistently attack the paint is cade.
JW is -1 in last 5 games, Duren is -32 last 5 games. so we will keep starting JW?

They are playing with half the team missing.. you can't base .. these performances on nothing… the rest of this season is to see what is possible and to get all these young players reps… you can't take any of this seriously
Casey did say that lineup was purely out of necessity 🤷🏽.. you can tell he didn’t like it cos he noted that we went 6 minutes without scoring and that the spacing disappears. On the positive this entire squad is showing grit and unity.
Brother the team is trying to develop players but it seems as soon as someone starts becoming consistent he gets hurt. It's difficult to see what works. Wiseman hasn't played this much his entire career. He looks gassed all the time. He needs to have an off season where he's healthy and can work on strengthening his body and his game. Duren is very impressive I love his upside. But I can't critique any lineup because of constant change.
