I don’t understand this. But I guess whatever makes you happy at the end of the day.

  2. Stegosaurus69

Sounds like a 25 year old that didn’t even know anything about basketball and then chose a bandwagon team

  3. OG_Kazaam

Someone I knew went from rooting for Blazers having grown up in the portland area, to rooting for OKC when they had Harden/Russ/KD, I thought it was lame as well lol

  4. TheLetterOh

If I could root for another team I probably would. Especially during years like this, but I get nowhere near the same amount of joy watching any other team win.

  5. I don’t understand how he was a fan for 25 years, calls the franchise losers, when that period was some of the best basketball the org had. 2 finals appearances. A bunch of deep runs. But they are losers? Ok. Warriors weren’t anything until 2015 but the blazers were the losers. Ok.

Also make this lames name be known.

  6. Wait till he finds out what the warriors were like during the terry Cummings years.

  7. Frosti11icus

A fan for 25 years and jumped ship when Roy and Oden were rookies?

  8. StraightUpButtcheeks

What a puss, can’t handle failure, wants instant gratification.

This guy doesn’t understand fandom at all. You aren’t a fan unless you stick with your team through the bad times, the losses that make you want to puke, and the moments of sheer frustration and pain. If you haven’t spent the entire duration of time between games after a particularly tough loss with a pit in your stomach you were never a fan to begin with. Only then have you bathed in the living waters to establish yourself within the creed.

Sure, that’s weak sauce, but I’d argue rooting for the Lakers in the 2000 Finals would be the “worst thinkable betrayal.”

  11. Do not nibble on this bait tweet.

The Blazers are bad, but absolutely not destined for decades of futility like the Timberwolves, or even the “Dubs” prior to a lucky run of picks

  12. YoogleFoogle

I’m a lifelong blazers fan and a blazers fan first and foremost, but I lived in the bay for almost 15 years starting shortly after “we believe” and got to see an insane Bay Area sports run across baseball bball, and football. so yeah, I’m a fucking dubs fan too. “We believe” is a great sports story. Baron Davis dunking on AK47 is one of my favorite sports memories, up there with B Roy and dame game winners.

Being a blazers fan is painful. Watching dames prime being squandering is painful, so I don’t blame the guy for being a dubs fan, but doesn’t mean you have to drop the blazers. they’re not mutually exclusive and anyone who says it must be is just an idiot

  13. PoopComesOutOfMyButt

It took them 25 *years* to figure out that the Blazers are losers?? I figured that out in the 6th grade and just keep coming back. I figured that being an idiot was an inherent part of liking this team.

I bet he’ll be a loyal fan for years to come when Kerr and Curry eventually retire, too.

  15. lucasblack23456

Blazers had the longest playoff team streak for a while too

  16. Is becoming a warriors fan really the worst betrayal? While warriors fans have at times been incredibly cocky and annoying since 2014, I still think becoming Lakers fan would be a worse betrayal.

  17. philthyphil7

There is no curse in Elvish, Entish, or the tongues of Men for this treachery.

  18. manticory

I was a Kings fan until I moved to Portland the year Roy was drafted. Only started looking back this year.

  19. Orwell1971

That’s a heck of a thing to admit about yourself. “I’m a quitter and just go where things are easiest.”

Petition to have them caned in Pioneer Square, for all to see
