  1. The thing is when you’re a completely new team with a lot of “what ifs”, this phase that should look like a playoff rotation still ends up being kind of experimental. I’m sure the off season will give us some idea of where we are going. JV with his first season as the Nets head coach as well. Let’s just enjoy the good games and be thankful that we still have a lot of assets. Nets World baby

  2. Why don‘t they understand Mikal getting 10 minutes? If he didn’t have the streak, he wouldn’t have played at all that night.

Whoever wrote this post has no idea what they’re talking about.

“Sometimes we play 4 bench guys and sometimes 7”. Yeah, and? How is that strange? Does this person even watch the games? The personnel coming off the bench is dependant on matchups and performance. It’s good that JV tries different looks if the default ones are not working as intended.

Mikal played 10 minutes in the Bucks game, because it was a scheduled loss in a B2B. He would probably be a DNP like the rest of the starters, if he wasn’t going for the iron man record.

The assessment of “no rhythm” for Cam and Yuta is laughable. What does that even mean? Does this person realize that these are professional basketball players? They practice every day and have hours of prep and shootaround before every game. Game time is a small percentage of the time they are actually playing basketball and they should be ready and “in rhythm” when they roll out of bed. The author is trying to pin Yuta and Cam’s poor performance on external factors, while missing the most obvious answer – they are not getting a lot of playing time, because they aren’t playing well when they’re on the floor.

Casual fans questioning rotations is nothing new. Everyone has opinions (IMO Royce should be starting instead of CJ), but we don’t realistically know shit. We don’t have scouting reports, we don’t attend practice. Most of the people don’t even understand basic offensive and defensive plays. In the end, we only know that JV is a good influence in the locker room and he’s not clueless in calling plays. Since the trade deadline, he’s working with 4 new starters and no training camp. People have no idea how hard it is to get everybody on the same page and working as a unit in pro basketball. Let the man cook.

Any evaluation of JV’s work should happen at the earliest mid next season, after a full training camp with the new roster.

Funny how the Celtics got a new coach and had success right away. I really don’t like jv just curious when other nets fans will stop giving jv a life line.

The Bucks games was the front of a B2B and a 4 in 5. So the plan was to not play the starters or limited minutes from the start. I would argue doing that lead to beating the Wolves the next night.

I get we are running out of things to talk about at this point of the season but there’s a lot of moving parts here. Without the clear bucket getters that we had the past few seasons, there’s going to be a lot of different looks. That’s one of the remaining strengths of the team, having a deeper bench and being able to throw different lineups at teams. It’s up to the professionals to be ready to go when they’re called.

I was at the game live. With 6 minutes left Yuta was about to come in. Seth made a three then Yuta went back to the bench. He ended up actually coming in with 2 minutes left. I’m trying to point out Jacque gave up with 6 minutes left, pretty ridiculous in my opinion
