A strong case could be made to keep any of the Heat’s best three players moving forward. But without cap space, how do you improve your team from 6th/7th best in East to top 3 if you keep all 3? Very, very difficult.

Yeah we wouldn’t want to overpay for a star player, best to run it back. Maybe add crowder with the MLE

  2. SudTheThug

Barry being a mouthpiece for the front office letting us know nothings gonna change next year

  3. thor_1225

Kyle Lowry and Duncan’s contracts certainly don’t help, and Kyle is paid like the 3rd star and he’s at best the 4th person but idk how you could even make that argument

It’s not just difficult it’s pretty much delusional to expect to be better without a big move or two.

The pieces around jimmy and bam need to be reshuffled.

  5. I think this team can benefit more from 3 good consistent players then having Jimmy Butler.

  6. moons_a_skull

You can tell he’s good at his job because he’s burning through his offseason content already.

The obvious answer, although i understand its rhetorical and just meant to get the fanbase to talk about trading Bam/Herro, is trading a bunch of picks for a player without many years under contract so that they have some leverage to force their way to Miami. So somebody like OG Anunoby would be the ideal target.

Everyone outside of jimmy and bam can go.

I dont understand why people think you can trade your way to the top. When has that ever worked? You can get FA’s for sure but to trade your way to 1st place almost always fails. Its supposed to be an equal trade.

No one is going to accept your 2k offer of Tyler for KD or Bam for Giannis. No one is going to take Duncan when he is riding the bench making 90 mil. No one wants Gabe, Strus, Lowry and a 2nd rounder for an all star.

You have to have assets to get assets and our only assets are not going to yield the proper ROI.

We can hope that when Duncan and Lowry’s contracts come to an end that the next FA likes Florida’s Beaches. But for now all we can do is just be all in on this team and hope by some miracle that it is enough.

I think they need to seriously look at trading herro for 1 or 2 good role players who can shoot and defend. He’s never going to be the player that the front office seem to think he is, and our team structure would work way better with a clear #1 and #2 option

  10. Simple-Ad-7866

Could’ve done that during the 2022 off-season which everyone knew it needed to improve and instead of doing nothing

  11. Kuni_Nino

It’s not that hard. Just get a few dudes that can hit threes at 40%. There’s one guy sitting on the bench that doesn’t play.

  12. FragnificentKW

Lowry will almost certainly be traded in the off-season when his nearly $30 million expiring contract will actually be an asset

  13. Only player I care to keep is Bam, love Jimmy but he’s getting old and Tyler’s mid

I’ve been big on getting size for over 3 seasons now. I’m starting to edge towards getting a pure pg for the future. Now a sg that facilitate. An actual pg.

Many teams have those roles filled of an athletic 4 with size and a true pg. Heat just put band-aids on those with undersized guys or aging pgs. Even have shooting guards try to do it.

I believe that is part of why the Heat have consistency and availability issues. Players have to make up for other roles that isn’t their bread and butter.

It’s so hard because Heat drafted 2 forwards in Precious and Jovic already. One was lacking or just not developing fast enough for what the Heat needed. The other shows potential, but is a bit frail.

Need that athletic guy that has size and is built, but at the pick Heat have, it tends to be hard to find one that can shoot. Part of why I think they should take a stab at a pg for the future.

When was the last time Heat drafted a pg in the first rd? I gotta check because it may never happen this draft

Bam should be the closest to untouchable of the 3.

Herro should get moved if trying to capitalize with Jimmy.

Amd Butler should be moved if trying to move to next Era. Get a piece for now and picks to build around Bam Herro

    #Plot Twist

we make it to the ECF again and Pat decides to run it back twice. Lord have mercy

  17. GrogRhodes

I think we’ll be able to get someone for Lowry next year. There’s always someone disgruntled out there. Bonus if they’re long and can score.

Internally. Curious to see what Jovic is gonna look like after that first off-season Miami Boot Camp. Herro gonna be able to ever keep the muscle on?

If you blow it up what does a team built around Bam look like? What does Jimmy get you?

Too much unknown. I’d probably see what Jimmy wants too.

This is literally what I’ve been saying for two seasons now. Our money is wrong. This team is capped out and the only player that’s been shown to step up in the post season is getting older.

We do not have enough money spread across enough of the skills that matter when it comes to winning in the post season. We’re weak on play making, shot creation, spacing and shooting.

The way a chip team is setup is that your two best players cover that up by being so good in a few of those areas it makes up for what your role players are lacking. We don’t have that situation here.

  19. They can keep all three . Just get rid of the useless players on the roster — that is Gabe and Caleb — and the G-Leaguers , with the exception of Jovic, who needs to stay — as well , get rid of washed up Oladipo — and you can sign another helpful piece or two — while bringing other guys back on team-friendly contracts .

they guy currently getting paid 30M (lowry) is overpaid like hell. He needs to go

  21. c2darizzle

Keep Bam Jimmy and Tye and start from scratch. So far that method has gotten us one finals appearance and one ECF during the Jimmy years so I’m down with this process. Next season we are winning it all. Calling it now.

  22. BrianBanks7

Honestly move Herro, Lowry, Jovic and all our first round picks for Lillard.
