I have no clue why jv didn’t play mikal much in that 4th quarter
Free CT, Yuta, and Sumner.
Goes without saying that tomorrow & Thursday’s games against the Cavs & Saturday’s against the Heat are pretty important for standings and our playoff window; not that I’m expecting us to make much noise in the post-season, not getting swept in a first round exit is my ceiling hope currently, but I’d love to avoid the stress of the play-in entirely this year.
My offseason hopes:
– Fill some holes on the roster (another playmaker + a rebounding PF/C)
– Cut some of the fat, don’t need this many catch and shoot guys. Any wing except Mikal should be available for the right price
– Maybe spend some picks to move up in draft or gamble on a young player
Overall, just keep building up slowly. With Houston in control of the picks, it makes no sense to tank. At the same time, we shouldn’t rush into win now mode while the whole Simmons situation is so uncertain. I don’t want a Dame/Derozan/Butler type player even if they’re available.
Marks seems like he has a good eye for young talent, so hopefully we can get out of the mid zone by drafting some steals and maybe poaching some young talent from other teams.
Offensively, I prefer our lineups when at least 3 pre-deadline guys are on the court. Idk if it’s because they are volume scorers or because they have chemistry but our offense flows better in those sequences.
