“As January gave way to February and February bled into March, Towns started to sense frustration from fans about why he was not yet back on the court.
“Rightfully so,” he said.
He got the impression some believed he was not attacking his rehab properly and giving everything he had to get back to his team. On the contrary, Towns said, he was approaching his situation with the utmost seriousness and care. The Timberwolves consulted doctors all over the world about his injury. They all sought second and third opinions to make sure all perspectives and options were on the table with an injury that can have dire consequences if not treated properly.
“I wish we communicated a little better so the fans didn’t have a false narrative that I was the one holding off,” Towns said. “I’ve never in all my years have I done anything remotely close to that. I want fans to know that.”

3+ months without our best player and we’re 1 game out of 6th and 3 games out is incredibly impressive no matter how inconsistent the west is this year.
We’ve been decimated by injuries and we still have the chance to secure an auto playoff spot if the team hits the ground running when KAT and Ant come back. Whether or not that happens is still yet to be seen but all things considered we’re in a great spot to give ourselves a chance for the 6 seed or higher.
We are so fucking back baby! Let’s gooooo!!! Target Center better be packed on Wednesday!!
