    I don’t know about 2, but maybe 1.

  2. tconner87

So I should hold off on buying my Grimes jersey?

  3. spaceninj

If PG’s injury is serious, we make a run at Kawhi.

  4. ThisIsEduardo

dont need or want 2. our depth and defense is a huge asset. but 1 more star absolutely

  5. FlockingPigeons

This is straight up Knicks for clicks. Makes me wanna Will Smith Windhorst.

  6. Dragon-Bender

No need to be hunting for a trade when we have a good young team. Let the young guys come back and continue their improvement. Unless a big star says they want to come to NY. Make sure that player plays defense also. No Lavine

  7. JustChillin145

He’s talking 2 but besides brown who else is a trade candidate? I really think Jaylen is doing all this talk because he wants a max from the Celtics but I would give RJ for him in a heartbeat it’s sad to say though

  8. HardOakleyFoul

Dream big. Hopefully Philly implodes and Embiid asks out.

  9. REIsteve

Jaylen brown and embiid would be a wet dream

  10. The full article:

The New York Knicks have had a successful 22-23 season despite deciding not to trade for Donovan Mitchell in the offseason. With Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle as their core, they will have trade optionality this offseason.

“Here’s what I think about the Knicks,” said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. “They have two handfuls of trade material, in my opinion. They can make, in my opinion, two big trades if they had to coming into this summer.

“They have the expiring contract of Evan Fournier, which can act as ballast in a trade. They have a bunch of younger players that people are interested in. And they have something like nine tradable first round picks.

“In my view, they can trade for two star-level players if they needed to. It doesn’t mean they’d have to do those deals in the summer of ’23. Those deals can be made within the 23-24 season, they can be in ’24. But they can hold, in my opinion, they can hold Jalen Brunson, they can hold Julius Randle, and they can make two giant trades.

“Whether they can hold Brunson, Randle and [RJ] Barrett and make two giants trades, that would depend on the players. But there is even a window that they can hold all three of those and make two giant trade.

“It’s going to require, I think, a player to say ‘Send me to New York.’ And potentially another star player to say ‘Oh, I’ll go to New York too.’

“Or for New York to pull a big trade and a star player going ‘Ah, man. They got this and they still have this. I want to do that.’

“I kind of compare it to where the Cavs were in 2014. The Cavs had stuff and they had space. They used the space on LeBron and they used the stuff for Kevin Love.”

Windhorst then talked about the favorable contract of Brunson, which declines in value over the four years.

“The Knicks are positioned,” said Windhorst. “Leon Rose has put them in position. Getting into position is not the hard part. Executing is the hard part. But he’s put them in position.”

I cant believe im saying thus but i now expect the knicks to make an nba finals appearance and likely a championship in the next 3 years.

Were trending in the right direction, have a shit load of assets that can be used for a disgruntled super star

  12. youredoingWELL

The path forward is to keep both and trade for Luka using a package of picks, Quickley, Grimes and Toppin. Brunson/RJ/Luka/Randle/Mitch with Hart off the bench is a championship core.

  13. SteelCitySeven07

We offered half our team + picks for Spida and got rejected lol. Unless the stars force their way here , we will only have enough for 1.

  14. doncic2newyork

Randle will need to be traded to make way for two stars. We keep Brunson and maybe one more rotational player.

  15. beanie_mac

But ppl told me Leon Rose was a jackass who didn’t know what he was doing…

  16. beanie_mac

All we need is Jaylen Brown, a backup 4, and a spot up shooter.

  17. It would have been RJ as the centerpiece but no chance now. I’m willing to throw all picks in the deal for a major star. Only problem is we need a 3rd team for cap room.

  18. gregieb429

Idk about 2, but I agree with the notion that it’s time for a big swing to take us to the next level

  19. Yes, tell me more Windhorst

  20. velocissimo

If we can somehow get Jaylen Brown on a fair trade, I’d nut

  21. Hot-Turnover4883

They’re better off trading for a superstar

  22. MeloDied4OurSins

If we didn’t trade RJ for Donovan Mitchell we shouldn’t be trading him now.

  23. Living_Internet_2970

Who are the star players? No one

  24. frankslastdoughnut

Yeah for sure you let RJ go and some picks.

I’m absolutely against giving up Grimes or IQ. Our bench is the reason we are competitive in every game. We can’t sell out our depth to get one star player. It’s just not worth it. If we can pick up Brown for RJ,OBI/Hartenstein, and 3 firsts…. I think you do that. Then you find a way to dump fournier, and rose and extend IQ. We worry about Browns extension during the season to lock him in.

**Starters:** Brunson, Grimes, Brown, Randle, Mitch
    **Bench:** IQ, Hart, fill ins.

That’s my ideal Seven mains next year. Hell, if we can throw in Hartenstein instead of OBI (Hartenstein is one year younger then OBI and is a much better plug and play player in 9/10 systems than topping) then I think you do that and keep toppin. Jericho Sims you gotta trust that Thibs will keep making him better. Deuce Mcbride we can resign cheap and BAM. There you go. A cheap 3 to round out the 10.

Let’s not act like the cap limit matters anyways so this is really about how much Dolan wants to pony up to go for a championship caliber team.

  25. which was the problem with the Donovan Mitchell trade.

They wanted all of our assets or at least most of them.

We have/had enough assets to get 2 big deals done, with 1 of the deals costing a bit more than the other.

But Utah wanted like 1.5 out of those 2 big deals.

Barrett, 4 1sts (or 6 1sts if it included protected picks), Grimes.

Too much, imo. Rj might be somewhat inefficient but he’s of the Lavine/Markannen mold. They’ll probably have (and in the case of Lavine had) some solid to great years with a few all-star level years (not many, but enough). Giving Grimes plus 3 unprotected PLUS 2 or 3 protected 1sts was too much

  26. ruffdaddysmooth

Still think Randle is the one who gets traded

  27. ThatOtherOtherGuy3

“They have a bunch of young players that people are interested in.”

This makes me want to cry tears of joy. I can’t remember the last time that could have been said.

  28. GreenEggzAndSpam

We need one mega-star, we already have two stars we don’t need 4

  29. run_your_race_5

So Lebron is laying the groundwork for his interest in the Knicks via Windhorst?!?

  30. bakedpotato69420666

So glad I bought RJ and Quickley jerseys

  31. The_Notorious_Donut

I can see them getting rid of Grimes and possibly Quick. Don’t see another team taking Mitch’s contract or being interested in Fournier

  32. mariofcksluigicanon

guy would collapse inflating a basketball

  33. frenchcois

It’s refreshing that this isn’t one of those super team, star studded trade built teams and the pure sport fan in me wants to keep it that way and see if they can get somewhere. Idk , whenever I see multiple stars go to a team I’m instantly like fuck them. Look at what happened in Brooklyn. Now Phoenix and Dallas are also struggling. I’m not saying we don’t need ti change anything, but part of the reason this team works is because of the team there is now and you don’t wanna unload everyone for one dude that later gets injured . Let’s do it organic

  34. OstrichDelicious587

Lavine kristaps KAT and Myles Turner imo are the realistic typa players that would be available for us to get this summer. Any one of them would make us better but idk if they make us contenders.

  35. TheDreamLives

We are going to get Beal from Washington and Ayton from Suns.

    Brunson
    Beal
    RJ
    Randle
    Ayton

  36. Accomplished_Power_3

    I buy it .
Between RJ , Obi , Mitch , grimes/ IQ , fourner and picks we def can get a minimum of one star such as jaylen brown.

Maybe even a 2nd all depends on if grimes and quickly finish off the year really strong to up value.

I wanna keep IQ but if he needs to be traded so be it.

  37. I wouldn’t trade grimes or IQ for what most likely will be a disgruntled star with his best days behind him. I really believe one of those two, if not both of them have all star potential in their near future. I’d try and keep a trade centered around RJ, and picks. Otherwise it’s not worth it to me, save for something crazy like getting Lebron, who would instantly turn us into championship contenders.
