Another night of terrible three point shooting, possibly the worst by Lauri going 2-10. Despite that, pretty balanced gam from the starters, with THT, Kessler, and Olynyk all closing in on triple doubles. The bench however, absolutely shit the bed. Gonna need to be healthy pretty immediately to compete for a play-in spot.

Question from a Suns fan. The stadium was half empty, your game thread was a ghost town. What happened to this team/fan base? At the beginning of the year you guys looked so good. Like I thought you would be doing what the kings are doing now. Instead it looks like everyone gave up. Why?

Lauri struggled this game. His third quarter was superb, but first half shot 2-10, second half 4-12. Not the best night for him, but he still finished with 25 points and 9 rebounds.
Kessler had another great game. 18 points on 8-10 shooting, 8 rebounds, 7 blocks. What in the world this rookie is unreal. Just needs to work on his free throw shooting, going just 2-5
THT was our third leading scorer with 16 tonight, but I didn’t like his shot selection. He hits some unreal shots, but reminds me a lot of Alec Burks when it comes to shot selection and attacking the rim. He either makes it look really pretty, or really ugly. 7-18 from the field, 2-7 from 3, and missed all 4 of his free throws. 8 rebounds and 8 assists to 3 turnovers. Not his worst game, but not his best. He really needs to work on shot selection and decision making.
Our bench sucked ass tonight. 23 bench points, Dunn led iwth 9 on 4-6 shooting, but that’s about it. We are shorthanded, yes, but damn 23 points on 10-21 shooting? Disappointed in what they produced. Everybody but Brantley was at least a -16 in the +/-.
3 players flirted with a triple double, THT with 16-8-8, Kessler with 18-8-7 blocks, and Klynyk with 10-7-7. Hopefully it happens this year.
We just got beat plain and simple. Still fuck CP3 and DBook though
Our defense on Booker was excellent after that first quarter. We held him to just 6 points after that first quarter where he scored 18. Credit to Agbaji for figuring it out defensively.
Hardy is still trying a 2-1-2 zone, and it seems to work initially, but then teams figure it out. I don’t know if it is a personnel issue as we usually run it with Kelly + another big, but I applaud the uniqueness of it. I explained it a bit last time, but one player, usually Kelly, Lauri, or Agbaji plays as the “free safety” in the middle, coming up to catch the flairs or the pick n roll. I do think it has the capability to be great defensively, but I don’t know if these are the best players for it. It pulls that free safety everywhere, from the corner 3, to the middle of the paint, and Kelly is too slow for it and Agbaji too small to play in that position.
Hard to win when we shoot 9-36 from 3 and 18-27 from the line. 44/25/67 shooting splits aren’t great, but our defense was keeping us in it until that last quarter. We bounced back after that rough first quarter and made it a game up until the last 6 minutes or so.
Overall a scheduled loss, yet again. Tank is looking nice, still 2.5 games back from 6/7, and 2 games back from 8th best odds. 2 games back from the 9/10 seed in the west if we still want to try for the play-in.
