  1. Wow that’s crazy tight. Actually fewer first place votes than Jokic. Needs to convert those Giannis voters next week

  2. ScholarImpossible121

Shocked Giannis gets a 5th vote.

This is what the ballot should look like if each voter had independent thought, it really is a race that is hard to pick and it comes down to individual beliefs in what the award is.

  3. BlackyChan20

Gonna be real funny when Jokic is first team but Embiid wins MVP

  4. theytook-r-jobs

One of them getting more first place votes but losing would be the perfect ending.

    Travesties on this list include:

Someone put Tatum and Doncic over Giannis. Like what the fuck honestly.

    JJJ a fifth place vote??

Jaylen Brown a fourth place vote??????

  5. SkyMiteFall

If we ever need to question the true credibility of an MVP award, Jaren Jackson Jr has a vote..I’m just saying…

  6. 0ctologist

Do we know when the poll was taken? I wonder if this was before after the nuggets game…

  7. I’m just not exactly sure why we have gotten to this point. It seems really crazy to think that jokic is up for his 3rd consecutive MVP like that isn’t a massive factor and should be treated a such. So many (significantly better, imo) players haven’t even come close to being 3x MVP. Kobe, MJ, Lebron, Shaq all have had bigger peaks and bigger impacts and couldn’t get the elusive 3x. I don’t understand people wanting jokic to eclipse all of that.

Maybe I’m extremely bias in all of this becuase I have the pleasure of watching 82 Embiid games, but Embiid and Giannis are just better basketball players than jokic.

Its fucking stupid Embiid got robbed last year and we had to deal with it this year.

If jokic get it this year, I feel like 10 years from now, people will look bad and know we made a mistake.

  8. The Milwaukee game is CRUCIAL. If Joel can decisively beat Giannis I think he wins it.

This is probably before the Denver game unfortunately

Lol at this not being on r/nba after nearly an hour. Mods are probably having an aneurysm banning all the posters attempting to share it.

What a hellhole that place is.

  12. How this still not on r/nba? Mods trying keep the news quiet I guess

  13. What rule is this breaking on nba Reddit? Why does it keep getting deleted? Lol

  14. calman877

Reality is our guy is probably currently behind after the past few days, but if he balls out over the rest of the season it’s definitely still winnable

  15. Wentzsylvania13

I tried to post this article to r/NBA but they keep deleting it…

  16. hoagieclu

tatum being fourth is so mind boggling to me

  17. SonicdaSloth

key is that this was taken after he was announced as out vs Denver, so this is the immediate reaction to that which should mellow over time

  18. Writtenfrommyphone

Where the duck is that dude who said Embiid couldn’t win bc Harden was in top 10 for MVP?

  19. bigSpeakersReddit

truly think most voters haven’t decided and this could end up being a lot less close by the time official votes come out. and that’s going in either direction.

need a Joel masterclass against a Boston team that hopefully has something to play for still. Bill Simmons will 100% remember something like that against his precious Celtics and as we know he is influential

  20. PhatYeeter

Has an MVP tie ever happened? I know it’s happened for ROTY a couple times.

  21. ulyssessgrant93

I wanna know what clown gave Tatum a 2nd place vote

  22. kfjsport24

When do the votes need to be submitted by?

  23. It’s nuts that Jokic has the most 1st place votes. These people are just dying to get him another MVP.

  24. The person who thinks JJJ is a top 5 mvp finalist needs to get their brain examined

  25. handbanana84

    MP not MVP

    M stands for Missing
    P for Person

  26. r/NBA : we don’t want toxic MVP debates anymore

Also r/NBA: embiitch goes quack quack

  27. DrBigChicken

Apparently Perkins voted Giannis and Jokic over Embiid

What a fucking Uncle Tom having Embiid behind Jokic lol

  28. Efficient-Screen4931

This is what I’m taking about. I’d 100% bet my life that Tatums second place vote came from either Bill Simmons or Kevin O’Connor. Boston media and the Ringer can freak off

  29. KeyboardCarpenter

Please let Joel get his MVP🙏 I will never hate on jokic again just give my man’s this one jokic can have the next 8

  30. PensiveinNJ

Which Ringer employee is giving Tatum a 2nd place vote.

  31. International-Dish95

Y’all gotta keep in mind that some of these goofy votes are going to change. The votes here are anonymous & the actual mvp votes are public. The “media analysts” are going to actually have to “take the time” to do their due diligence and research (er watch the latest bill simmons episode).

  32. ImpossibleFact7

Now that’s a pleasant suprise, I had already convinced myself to not care for the mvp race cause I thought the last week made him drop lol, MVPIID🔥

  34. Looking at this chart, it seems to me that someone had a ballot that looked like this.

    Jokic – Tatum – Joel – Jaylen – Giannis

    That’s a clown’s ballot.

NOTE – I do realize that it could potentially be Joel – Tatum – Jokic – Jaylen – Giannis, which would also be a clown’s ballot, but one that I would approve of.

  35. Prestigious-Rock201

They better pray he don’t win or I’m
    Doing some trolling
