I can’t take anything JJ says about Embid seriously since he’s admitted that they are close friends. I don’t trust him to be impartial. I love all of his other work though what a great basketball mind. Everyone has been speaking about how much pressure Jokic has on him for months and I’ve heard little about how much pressure should be on the sixers. They have had much better teams and still flounder in the playoffs every year. And this year is no different to me I expect the sixers to make the finals so if they don’t it’s a huge flop and it might be time to blow it up. This is the first time the nuggets have been healthy in years so while I expect big things I don’t think this is the last chance for this team. I think if they can fix the bench over the offseason they could be unstoppable.

Is complicated… only Jokic, Harden and Westbrook are MVPs who haven’t won and tbh there’s little pressure on Westbrook (he’s past his athletic prime and that’s most of what he is), there’s a lil pressure on Harden but he hasn’t performed and that’s why he has pressure. Jokic hasn’t had a team around him to perform but this year is his year so there’s pressure. But I think there are more players who haven’t won MVP that have “pressure” to perform: Kawhi, PG, Tatum (finals only), Luka & Kyrie (kinda), THE SUNS!!!

Embid is worrying too much about his narrative. He lacks self-awareness. This will not turn out well for him. Fans will turn on him, and then he will feel pressure. Jay makes a good point. When we feel pressure, we should ask ourselves, "What would Kobe do?" He wouldn't act like Embid. He would fight through it. Jordan would take it personally and make Jokic pay for it, on the court.
