Current odds show that Jazz will likely end up with the 9th pick in the draft. Who could the Jazz realistically get at that spot? Should they try and trade up?
I’m a big proponent of Anthony Black with our first (if Ausar doesn’t fall to us). If not them, then Taylor Hendricks seems like he’d be a great fit with Walker and Lauri

Gradey Dick at 9 and keyonte George or cason Wallace at 13

Should highlight the T-Wolves row as well. Combining the two, our lottery odds today would be:
#1 – 5.5%
Top 2 – 11.44%
Top 3 – 17.92%
Top 4 – 25.03%

Does anyone know why the Trail Blazers have double the chances of top picks compared to us?

Well, it seems likely this is where we stay, right? There’s a small chance we let Dallas out-tank us and land at 10, and there’s an even smaller chance that a streaky team decides to win some games and rise above us in record. Here’s a breakdown.
West:
We have 4 games, with two against the Lakers and one against the Thunder that are winnable. Maybe we go 1-3, but we hate all those teams, and might accidentally win more?
Dallas has 3 games: Kings, Bulls, and Spurs. They should win one, and 1-2 keeps them above us.
Portland would have to go 3-1 to switch us spots, which they did accomplish at the beginning of last month, but I doubt they do it now.
East:
Bulls have 4 games, and need to stay in the play-in. Zero chance they tank, so they stay above us.
Washington is eliminated. They have an easy game against the Rockets, but they’d need to win 1 or 2 more to pass us up.
Pacers only have three games against regional rivals, which they might try to win for pride, but I doubt it. Highly unlikely they go 2-1.
Magic are hot right now. They could also go 3-1, but it’s unlikely.

I don’t think they will trade up. They’re in a great spot to get Black (still my favorite pick for the Jazz), Hendricks, or Wallace. Maybe they get lucky and one of the top 7 fall (obviously not Vic, Scoot, Miller….but one of the twins, Walker, and Whitmore would be nice). The Wolves pick should be decent too and I feel like there are about 10-15 guys that I rate closely in that range.

I think Black would be an intriguing pick. We need better guards and defense. Though the wizards might have the same idea and take him.

Oh snap I didn’t know the lottery was for the top 4 picks, thought it was for the top 3.

If we had lost like 3-4 more games it could have dramatically altered the future of this franchise.
