The pick Mavs owe Knicks is top-10 protected through 2025. So if the Mavs keep it this year, they would only have a 2027 first to offer in trades moving forward. Mavs could also use this year’s pick in a deal after making it. If the pick conveys, Mavs can offer ’25 and ’27.

good no more dumb desperate trades lol

Far better to have the pick than trade it. We need talent on the roster

  3. I dont understand that argument at all. What is the more valuable trade asset?

    – A 2025 and 2027 first round pick, both probably outside of the lottery.
    – a guaranteed top10 pick in 2023 + a 2027 first round pick which is probably outside of the lottery.

Easy choice for me. You try to keep the 2023 pick

People keep making this stupid argument. It makes no sense. If the Mavs keep this year’s pick, they can trade **both this year’s 10 pick and 2027**, which is more valuable than 2025 and 2027 packaged together. They could also easily trade the 10th pick for another first or two firsts if their issue is just having firsts to trade in the future.

No matter which way you look at it, having our pick this year is better than having it convey to the Knicks.

Just tank to get the pick. Who gives a shit about the playin

Front office better be talking to players about this. “sit and rest we dont want you injured… “

    Okay, so?

If they lose it then they can only offer two future picks vs offering this one and 2027

This makes no sense why does this matter lol

clarification because the feed thinks this is an arguemnt, its not its just information because this is just a follow up tweet for the odds, there is no argument here its just stats, no need to create a fake argument.

Thanks Tim. Everybody knows that for months.

Any GM about there would rather have a guaranteed top 10 pick this year than a 2025 pick with Luka and possibly Lebron (if you believe Bill Simmons at all)

Tank, keep the pick, and then gauge the trade market.

I am sure there is a prospect at C that we can draft that can average more than 4 rpg.

If we are starting Dwight Fucking Powell on opening night next season, cancel this franchise, force Cuban to sell and move it to Mexico.

I wonder if Jarrett Allen would be available for this top 10 pick. Would absolutely love him on Dallas, who wouldn’t?

Maybe Cleveland wants to move Mobley to the 5. Would be able to use that FRP to acquire a bigger wing they need. Hardaway + 23′ FRP maybe? Cleveland gets a shooter to space the floor more for Donovan and Darius and a valuable top 10 pick.

    Just spitballin, idk.

What a sad disappointing season. Luka and Kyrie have been putting up numbers but the team and defense aren’t producing like last season. It feels like the team needs a veteran leader until Luka feels comfortable leading the team. I think we need a Jimmy Butler, Draymond, or Marcus Smart type player to be the vocal leader and definitive anchor. Kidd obviously needs to go if his entire offense is solely ISO plays.
