Yesterday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported that the Mavericks are ‘seriously considering’ resting key players and quitting on the season for a draft pick. Is this a good idea when the Mavs are still technically alive? Should Kyrie be insulted?

It's dumb to even think this team has a chance in the playoffs. It's a fundamentally flawed team with 2 superstars playing totally different styles and underachievers with bloated contracts. Not a decent rebounder or interior defender on the roster. I'd rather lose the remaining couple of games and reload. Not like it's that hard to make the playoffs in this system.

If the Mavs get a top 10 pick, plus release all players with expiring contracts, they can reload with a few good role players and a top 10 pick that hopefully is good right away! Keep Josh Green because he is a a solid piece as well. Replace below average role players with good ones and we can turn this thing around.
Team tank here all the way. If we land the 10th pick trade it dont draft. If we hit the jackpot and landed in the top 4 draft a player.
Real Fans understand them wanting to shut it down early. This team does not believe they can win with this roster and Luka has been the most usage player in the last 3-4 years and giving him 2 more months in the offseason can help him get in shape. Sure we can sign Kyrie and if we don't then we still have his bird rights to use in a sign and trade so that we don't just end up with nothing. I wouldnt be surprised if the league office somehow rigs the lottery so that we can get Wemby. Everyone knows a team with Luka, Wemby and a Kyrie would be must watch TV and good for the league.
Mavs are a dumpster fire, they don't need to try and tank at all, whatever they're doing now is working just fine.

Get the pick and trade Bertans and Hardaway for Dodo and Simmons and Play simmons as a 5 that is a poor mans draymond green that just plays D and passes out of sets. Kyrie will either resign or sign and trade so don't get to hung up on him staying.
You’re such f…ing hypocrites and liars. Media knows the Mavs are tanking to secure their top ten protected draft pick this summer. There’s nothing wrong with Luka or Kyrie. The front office made Kidd tank because they would not have a draft pick for several years. They’re sacrificing this year to get a pick. Media knows it, but it’s more interesting to trash Luka and Kyrie for months than it is to discuss the legality and ethics of tanking. A professional team tanks a season. That’s the real story.
Fans don’t care that much Choppy if we keep that pick and are able to do something in the summer we will forget about them tanking it’s smart
