  1. The Wizards stuff is the intro to the article so it was kind of shocking but he does talk about other teams and even jumps across sports:

    >So, for the Mavs’ brass, it was a simple equation:

    >Top 10 pick in 2023 draft > almost certain first-round annihilation by Denver

    >The Mavericks would have had to not only beat the ninth seed — right now, Minnesota — but they would then have to beat the loser of the 7-8 Play-In matchup, which currently is either the Lakers and Pelicans, just to qualify to play the top-seeded Nuggets in a best-of-seven first-round match.

    >For Dallas, that wasn’t worth giving up the pick. That’s a choice. But franchises have the right to make those choices, just as fans have the right to support or reject those choices. Please don’t come at me with your ā€œthis is why I don’t watch the NBAā€ hot takes unless you posted the same while the Astros lost 31o games in a three-season (2012-14) period in order to seed their franchise with many of the players who helped them to two World Series titles in the last few years.

So who knows what can ultimately be done to stop tanking.

Silver will make sure we don’t get a top 4 pick

  3. Askia-the-Creator

A bit of a false equivalency since Luka – the star – played. He could’ve just sat out.

  4. BodaciousSalacious

Lol go ahead and look into it while we fucking won the game

  5. lil_layne

To my understanding tanking is losing on purpose. Can prioritizing your young players development be considered tanking? Because you can just argue, ā€œWe were trying to win the game, we just wanted to play our young guys the whole game for developmentā€ if that’s not considered tanking.

  6. rayquan36

The team doesn’t get much worse with them sitting… hell we won that game lol

  7. ColdNyQuiiL

Dave has dealt with the Wizards being poorly ran longer than most, and you know he’s fed up.

  8. Aldridge I’m gonna need you to go ahead and stfu

  9. Stretch5432

and whats been going on in okc for the las 4 years

  10. This is why I kind of laugh at people who get upset at the Wiz winning that game. They did almost everything in their power to lose but unfortunately Miami was just terrible for whatever reason

What if the bottom 3-4 NBA teams got relegated to the G-League and had to give their draft positions to the top 3-4 G-League teams taking their place? That would be a real punishment for tanking. Of course it’ll never happen because the Big Money won’t allow it.

  12. Frognaros

the fix is to flip the lottery to favor teams thatalmost make the playoffs and make bottom tier teams eventually forced to sell and/or relocate.

Wizards atleast know how to make up injury report with players who actually where injured with reason recovery or with KP conditioning šŸ˜€

Mavs put players with reason resting and randonmly pulled Luka after first qt šŸ˜€
