[Quick] Cronin says the Blazers have a “target group” of players they think would be good fits in Portland, the same players he said he failed to land in February at the trade deadline. The Blazers were rumored to be pursuing Toronto forward O.G. Anunoby…

Simons, their lotto pick this year (5th in lotto rn) and the NYK FRP (23rd) is what it would take.
I can’t see them offering that pack.
I feel like losing O.G. in a trade for, presumably Simons and the 4th-6th pick is something that people will only realize the ramifications of when they see our defensive rating without Anunoby for a full 82
It will not be pretty, especially since Simons is not known for being a good defender even when factoring in size and if the pick is 4th, you’d probably want to bank on Ausur or Amen instead
Kind of an awkward trade unless the team thinks Jarace Walker is the next big thing
I don’t see a universe where they wouldn’t see Siakam as a good fit. He’d be terrific in Portland.
This is the one that makes sense to me.
We are uniquely suited to trade a wing like OG, since we already have to play him out of position, because of Scottie and Pascal.
An extend-and-trade is now realistic with OG under the new CBA. OG can now get a 40% raise in an extension, instead of a 20% raise, which means he could get 4/$116.9M. In an extend-and-trade, I think the Blazers could justify giving up a valuable piece like their pick (which projects at #5) or Sharpe in an OG deal, knowing they wouldn’t be risking him being a rental.
I don’t think OG is enough of a difference maker for them for the cost it will take to get him. Siakam might be.
The Blazers are not an OG away from competing. Siakam, however, is a different story.
I have a hard time seeing the Blazers give up all that’s needed to get Siakam though. That would need to be a very good package.
I hope we do Siakam a solid. I hate to see talent rot, and our timelines/team composition aren’t meshing.
I’d rather get rid of Siakam at this point.
I’d rather move Pascal before OG.
Breaking: GM interested in players he was interested in.
More at 11.
lol at everyone saying get rid of the all nba player instead of OG

this subreddit unreadable at times, to many kids
Take Pascal instead.
DONT YOU DARE
I would rather trade pascal than OG even if it means the team takes a step back
People gotta stop thinking fits for “this team”. If they do what they need to do “this team” will no longer be a thing and they will be starting over from scratch. You don’t have to have a bunch of people on paper who are all good defenders. Get players to put around Scottie that make functional sense and get rid of the overpaid guys who you don’t need taking touches away from the young guys, Scottie and whoever you keep and whoever you add.
They would need to give up their future for OG. He’s the most promising player on the team, other than maybe Scottie. He gets better every year.
This sub must think OG is a future All NBA player at 26yrs old since you all want to trade Siakam before OG.
I really don’t want to see OG go, without his defence we could be in a lot of trouble.
I’d much rather see pascal go as much as it would hurt
As others have said, Pascal trade makes more sense, even though he’s our best player. We’re not close enough to going for it on Pascal’s timeline, so it’s better to maximize Scottie’s.
