[Woj] The Timberwolves had to suspend Gobert for throwing a punch, but accepted that it was a shot to chest with no intent to injure Kyle Anderson and understood that Anderson called Gobert a “bitch” repeatedly on a night Gobert was playing hurt, sources tell ESPN.

  1. This reads more like a note I had to write home to a pair of 7th graders parents than anything involving adults…but here we are…

It’s literally a protocol suspension, if it was anything worse than that he wouldn’t be in line to play our next game. Let him rest up and be ready for Game 1 against Memphis or Play-in game 2.

Anderson seems to have instigated the situation, also threw a punch that hit Garza in the face, and seemed to escalate the situation in the locker room. I don’t know what happened in the locker room and I am not arguing that Gobert shouldn’t be suspended but why not also suspend Anderson?

Just heard Dane’s podcast. He said in the locker room before the game, Rudy’s back spasms were so bad that he couldn’t pull up his shorts. Dane said he was not feeling good physically and looked like a shell of himself. Kyle missed 12 games due to back spasms. It’s game 82 so Rudy played but he wasn’t looking like himself.

Honestly not playing this game might be a good thing. He’s clearly not physically healthy to do so, so he might not be that effective anyways. Let him rest up and be healthier for the next game.

    Edit: typos

    “Sources”

We know it’s Rudy’s agent, Woj.

Honesty, Rudy’s team doing so much damage control to Woj is a bad look. It doesn’t read like someone truly remorseful for their actions, it reads like someone trying to cover their own ass.

I’m really curious how this will read in the lockerroom.

Judging by Gobert’s response, I’d say Kyle is spot on…

Anderson is getting a pass because on the whole the way he holds teammates accountable works.

It feels like a line was crossed in this situation. Rudy did what he did. Don’t think the fanbase should hold it against him

if they call you a bit** its cause they believe you a bit**

Rudy upset that Kyle has been in the league 8-9 years and still shooting 33% from the 3pt line. Literally no improvement year to year..

Thanks Tim Connelly for creating a culture here…
