Embiid is just too big for Claxton, and we are going to get beat trying to double him. Hopefully we can wear him out so he settles for jumpers. I think harden is going to struggle shooting for most of the series because we have a lot of defenders to throw at him and his step back isn’t the same any more. This team needs another legit scoring option. If we get one, we would definitely be a top four team in the east. Dinwiddie is too inconsistent, mikal seemed gassed the last week of the regular season and had pretty bad shot selection, Claxton can’t create, DFS can’t create, Harris can’t create, cam Johnson can somewhat create. Cam Thomas can create too much lol.

I doubt they run anything more than a 8 man rotation.

    Spence

    Mikal

    CJ

    Doe

    Clax

    Royce

    Joe

    Seth

Unless we are down bad and JV gets desperate I don’t think Sumner and Yuta see any minutes

Damn.. If we can get 1 Win aganist this team, this season will be a success and Better than last year’s team.

They’ll def utilize Sharpe for Embiid, if for nothing but fouls. He can match up well, at least physically.

Probably see a lot of run with Royce on Harden. He’s good at fighting through screens.

My biggest worry this series is the Harden/ Embiid pick and roll. I dont see how we guard that with a 2man game.

Let embid cook, I got trust in out wings to slow harden and everyone else down but yea we need to play perfect games and no Dinwiddie hero ball late game

They prolly beat the sixers if nets can limit Imbid points below 30.

seems fine. if embiid/harden PnR us to death at least clax can stay w JH and dfs in theory is a better bet on embiid than a mikal etc.

i just reeeeally hope we see a ton of diff looks on embiid to keep him a step behind / adjusting – then spence and mikal hunting him just to tire him as much as possible. really make him earn it.

Embiid and Harden cannot be stopped, so focus on the rest of the team. Even if Embiid and Harden both score 45 points, that’s only 90. Just try to limit the rest of the team. I’m not saying we shouldn’t play defense at all, but don’t waste effort with double and triple teams that they can score through anyway. That’ll just open up the rest of the team to scoring easily as well.

    Edit: math is hard

I think harden is going to be completely shut down by the nets. Nets have been gearing up to face the sixers for months, whereas the sixers really didnt know who’d they be up against.

The nets are a team designed to stop ball dominant guards. Jokic, giannis, and embiid can beat them. Everyone else is too small to dribble around and shoot over multiple fast, long, and tough defenders. Maxey wont be able to get open, but he’ll be able to score because he can sacrifice his body. Harden, on the other hand, will rely heavily on the refs for more than half of his scoring.

If Harden isn’t healed/plays bad we could literally win the match up which is the weird part.

My guess is they’ll PNR harden/maxey with Embiid, which will draw Clax to the guard and one of our guards (Spence, Bridges or Royce) on an island with Embiid with Doe sliding over for the double team.

Recipe for disaster because Embiid will either shoot over them or get fouled. Perhaps Spence can drive at him a few times and put him into foul trouble

  12. DreadSteed

The team’s best shot is to tire out Embiid by attacking him and making him settle for jump shots. He’s the likely MVP and he can put up 40/15 on any night, gonna have to live with him wrecking shop but gotta make him work for it.

Don’t let the role players get comfortable, and make them chase everyone around the perimeter. The Nets are a strong 3 point shooting team if people get hot.
