  1. I'd take the pick over a guaranteed 1st round bounce.

Taking a chance playing your dudes getting injured when you know damn well your season is already over and you're going to get swept, but ok "playoffs" just because 🤷‍♂️

  2. Give every non-playoff team the same odds to get a lottery pick. Then the last two playoff and non playoff teams all get a coin flip to swe who's in the lottery so there's no tanking to get out of a playoff series because their fate lies on a coin flip, not performance.

  3. I'm glad that the Mavs didn't make the post season. I feel bad for Luca though. I didn't want Kyrie to be successful.
He's a cancer to any franchise.
One leaven spoils the whole lump. It's always about him, and not the team.

  4. They allow load management which cheats the fans and ruins the rev season, so I don’t want to hear nuffin from Silver or any load management proponent complain about this.

  5. Going into those final 2 games, the Mavs had a less than 10% of making the playoffs. Even if they win both games, getting into the play in game was a long shot. And as it turned out, now that the season is over we know winning both games would NOT have gotten them in. But it would have cost them a first round lottery pick. So the Mavs made the right call to sit the starters. If you want to punish the Mavs for sitting starters 1 time…. what are you going to do to teams who started tanking 3 months ago?

  6. You play to win rings, not meaningless games at the end of a season. The Mavs need to upgrade their roster, which is best done via the draft. This approach should be done by every team not named The Lakers (who can lure free agents at will seemingly).

  7. So many teams have done this over the years. The Mavericks don't go to great lengths to hide it. That's the only difference.

  8. Imo, the first 30 (or whatever the number of teams is at the time) picks should be completely random and untradeable, without any advantage for losing teams. Then you can have teams pick from worst to best record for all further picks. It still evens out the field significantly, it still keeps the drama of the lottery, but the potential gains from losing are marginal and predictable.

  9. What a disappointment! Warriors at one time were entitled to draft pick nba effed then over instituted DRAFT, so I feel for their coach and phenomenal players, cheapens my view of cuban!

  10. When comparing two numbers, there is no meaning in saying one is “exponentially“ larger than the other. You need at least three numbers to determine that a growth curve is not linear.

  11. BREAKING NEWS: Dallas Mavericks replace Washington Generals. Will play Globetrotters 82 times next near.

  12. They should lose their pick automatically. N in case they don't I hope they lose it anyways in that 20% chance to lose it

  13. Mark Cuban is the problem with the Mavs and always has been. His push for wokeness in the reason so many fans dropped out. get rid of the Mark Cubans and I may start watching again- maybe. There's so much trash going on in the league and sports media it would still be a hard sell even if Mark were to get banned from professional sports.

  14. We should all start a class action law suit… We are paying customers and we are not getting what we paid for… NBA live or live NBA we all pay

  15. That would have sucked to have paid $100 for a seat to that game, just to realize this was happening.

  16. Are the owners going to give season ticket holders a "tank refund" for this season? Maybe a "tank discount" on next season? How about a disclaimer on each ticket that says "We reserve the right to dilute our product at any time, for any reason."

  17. Cuban turning NBA into Rigged-BA. Luca looked skinny during the rookie season. Weird how he has gained weight.

  18. Investigation into Mavericks? Why not investigate Chris Foster hamstringing CP3 every playoff run? Foster was never indicted for cheating with fellow ref – Tim Donaghy. Although he made more than 130 vs. <30 calls to fellow refs calls in the season Donaghy was caught. Why hasn’t Foster been called out for cheating or even counseled like Crawford was on carrying grudges and biases. The Suns are favored to go to the finals due to the power lineup. I hate to think how Foster will hamstring their chances because of some pre-existing biases or even possible bet rigging. The NBA ponders the desire to be a higher caliber team for next season vs. playing with integrity every game in an investigation when they can’t even get integrity in some of their referees. This is a travesty to investigate an owner who can and will probably will pay the $1Million fine to have a better team next season vs. a referee who will probably tank the chances of a favored championship team. Now that’s a travesty!

  19. Bad look for the NBA has been the motto for the 2022-2023 season. Dumb load management, refs giving techs away like they were beads on Mardi Gras, refs in general, flopping, this kind of stuff. This season was truly an embarrassment for the league.
