Tom Thibodeau met the media on Tuesday ahead of the Knicks’ first playoff game against the Cavaliers in Clevelando on Saturday, and gave an update on Julius Randle’s injury. While Randle isn’t yet cleared for contact, he is making strides towards a return. While a Game 1 return for Randle is uncertain, coach Thibodeau broke down what his team must do to contain the Donovan Mitchell-led Cavaliers.

This playoff series could potentially be the best one yet. Both teams are defensive minded and Mitchell always raises his game level during the playoffs. Knicks will need at least 30 plus points from Brunson just to make it competitive each game. Randell has to be healthy as well for the team to be able to do what he does. Depth wise is in the Knicks favor. Defense goes to the Cavs.
