This would be a very good hire if it’s true.
He has experience working in the Spurs’ FO as an assistant GM and was briefly the GM with Utah until stepping back in an advisory role. Hopefully he adds the needed competence and professionalism this FO dearly lacks

He’s a good pickup. You don’t want him as a GM, but he’s great as an assistant.
As a GM he help build the prior Jazz core that did a fine job. He looks for options and wants to scout frequently to get good players.
Where he struggles is boneheaded contracts and picks. He overpaid Derrek Favors, then traded away a 1st round pick to offload that contract to OKC. Also, in a recent draft he ignored others advice and picked the dud Udoka Azubuike. The guy has a stubborn streak to him.
That figures we would hire another garbage human being to pair with Cuban and Kidd

Should’ve hired Masai Ujiri or the current Utah GM when we had the chance.
Now Nico needs hand holding. Kidd needs leadership management and offensive scheme design, and Cuban needs better judge of basketball knowledge when hiring.
What about head coach?
A year too late but good to see they finally realized that Nico is drowning.. Still incredible incompetence not to have an actual GM as a GM
