I know the instant reaction to this is “Fuck you I love my team” but dude we gotta be honest lol. There’s a lot of people from Atlanta who are not diehard Hawk fans and it’s mostly because from when Dominique got traded all the way until the 60 win era, we were either bad or mid. The most exciting time in between that was when were the scrappy 8th seed that almost beat the Big 3-Celtics team. We had bad ownership and middle of the pack all-stars who was on the team for a couple years then traded. We have nowhere near the same dedications towards the Hawks as we do the Falcons or Braves.
I’ve thought Hawks games (since I started going in 2019) have been hype as hell. That Knicks playoff game I went to was awesome.

Malcolm a good dude, one time he came into the barbershop where I’d get my haircuts at the time and sat on the chair next to me. He was chill, even dapped me up when he was done, but fuck him for saying that lol. I’m not gonna say he’s wrong tho. During the previous eras (JJ, Smoove / Millsap/Horford eras) we would at best sell out 3/4 of the arena. It was on ownership for not appealing to the casual fans tho. Since we got Trae, the attendance has been selling out for just about every home game. Still, when other teams like Miami, NYK, LAL, etc come into town and we’re losing, it turns into an away game. Weve come a long way from not selling out to packing the farm out every night, but we need to get louder and more passionate. Not many hardcore hawks fans unfortunately, there are definitely a lot more casual fans here, but hopefully Trae can change that. Also Winning = stronger fanbase. Front office needs to get this team into contention ASAP
