I canāt believe celticsblog.com is still a thing, I remember following that in the early 2000ās

I donāt know how common they were from an overall percentage, but there were a lot of takes like this when the trade happened. Just search for Derrick white Celtics trade and thereās some on the first page of results.
Even if white hadnāt exploded this year and made a massive leap forward, we still probably won that trade. People kept thinking Romeo would turn into something and it was being buried on the Celtics bench holding him back; well on a terrible spurs team where he had every chance to get major minutes he averaged 7ppg this year on 19 mpg.

When you consider the hit rate of first rounders the Buffalo has already hugely exceeded equal trade value

You guys know this article is almost satire right? Heās intentionally being a blowhard and admits in the opening paragraph itās absolutely ridiculous to judge a trade that early.

i remember many people on this sub saying they would rather have josh richardson over him at the time

This was an A+ trade. That 1st round pick ended up becoming Blake Wesley. Those late firsts arenāt worth a whole lot when youāre competing for chips, it just sounds like a lot to give up if you just read a headline. I love J Rich, but heās no where near the difference maker DWhite is.

My sister (~6 months pregnant) was trying to think of baby names for a boy the other day and I threw “Bradley” out there, hoping she unintentionally names her kid after Brad Stevens.

If you think thatās bad, then just search āLangfordā in this sub.

didn’t they publish 2 pieces after the trade? one against and one for? and equally egregiously over the top?
GrayBox1313
Hot take. We won the trade.

Lol I was so mad when we drafted Romeo Langford. Like how we gon draft a wing who canāt shoot and we already had like 4 wing players on the team. I knew he was going to be trash in the nba
daft_dunkwwwolfey
I just thought it was weird at the time cuz I loved JRich and I was like “another guard?” But I knew he was a good defender and could be a good 6 man. But other people were saying he could be a bigger piece, and they were right. This was such an overreaction lmao
