getting paid 43$ a day at 37 years old and then millions a year in your 50s is crazy

Eventually it will dawn on people that we will likely never see another Raptors coach achieve more than Nurse did, especially not in such a short time.

Nurse was the first “Understand the grind” and “Bet on yourself” Raptor ever.

    “happily accepted”

This is why you don’t let power corrupt you. THAT NN would’ve never said “10 years is a long time…” before even fulfilling his contract

  5. paolocase

I would never. How did he survive on $43/d?

Nothing but respect. In a sea of bitch boys, this guy never gave up on his dream.

I wish I had the same passion for something the way NN is passionate about basketball. You know the saying: “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life”.

Don’t think I’ve ever been this sad since we knew Kyle was gonna go. His story is what people make movies of, from taking on jobs no one else would take just for the love of the game to getting to the absolute peak of what one can accomplish in his field. You can clearly see how much he loves & gets into all the ins and outs & complexities of this sport. Sucks it had to end like this, when the stories first came out I was really hoping it was all smoke and mirrors by Clutch to start negotiating a better deal and I was hoping we’d do anything to salvage it. He’s unquestionably the greatest coach of our franchise, and I really hope I’m wrong, but I feel like it’s gonna be really hard to see another coach as good as he is in our lifetimes for this team.

As much as you may dislike his rotations etc no one can argue the imprint he had as a coach. This guy has forced teams into making box and one a thing when everyone laughed at him. The team when organized with good players throughout the team were good on offense and defense. The bubble year I think is his best example of how good of a coach he can be and he’s prob a top 5 coach in the league.

Coaches are hired to be fired. But this guy took us to the mountain top. I remember in caseys last year, i heard him talking at a halftime interview and thought, what a great communicator, this guys going places. He will be missed.

Grieve for what? He’ll do good somewhere else
