There’s been a lot of speculation about Bridges, his relationship to Dame, his fit with the roster, and what it would take to get it done.

A common theme I’ve seen from Nets fans is how bad Simmons contract hamstrings them from doing anything.

So… what do you think? Would both teams consider this, or slam the phone? Why?

I am curious to hear opinions.

I am assuming we clear the CHI commitment with the NYK pick this year.

    Let’s Go, Blazers!

i’d rather try for claxton. or dayron sharpe

Blazers have to do it, and if the 2023 pick lands top 4 I think the Nets say yes too

  4. I don’t ANY part of Ben Simmons and that contract. I don’t know what’s going on between his ears but it’s bad for basketball and certainly not worth the cap space he’s eating up.

I would do this for sure although I don’t think the Nets would. I’m also a bit concerned about our long-term plan at centre because I sure as fuck don’t want Eubanks starting for this team.

Lmao since when did Mikal Bridges become prime Kevin Durant. this shit is getting out of hand. he’s a really, really good role player. But he’s still in the same tier as someone like OG.

  7. Thought for sure this post was made on Thursday but…. nope.

Blazers are locked into a position where they can’t trade multiple 1st’s like this until they straighten out the protected first they traded to the Bulls. Since the CBA blocks teams from trading 1st’s in back-to-back years they can’t commit any future 1st’s in trade until they unprotect the current obligation.

If I’m Joe Cronin on a five day crack bender I do this.

    Otherwise fuck no.

I’d be really curious to see what the nets sub would think of this.

  11. Absofuckinglutely not. Standing front of a train hand outstretched screaming “NOOOOOOOOOO” in a movie no. No, the answer is no.

If we traded our entire future for one of the worst contracts in the league + a 27 year old (next year) non all star… I would actually cry real tears.

Winslow can’t be a part of that trade as he is a free agent. Otherwise, it depends on where the 2023 pick lands. If 6 or 7 hell yes I do it.

People are forgetting that Simmons is a former all star and is still young. He could be effective under the right system if he regains health. Having him as the most overpriced backup PG in the league wouldn’t be bad.

Mikal’s not worth giving up Ant, Nurk, 3 firsts AND having to take back Simmons who has one of the worst contracts in the league.

I love the comments. A lot of passion on all sides. While I came up with this idea, I am not necessarily in support. I do think the “big trade” will be something that is a certain level of “crazy” and elicits a lot of strong responses on both sides.

This is what makes this stuff fun.

    Enjoy!!!!

He’s the biggest “what if” in the league right now. We know what he can be, and it’s an amazing fit, but who knows if he can get back to that.

  16. natural_lawg

It’s the wrong cost. I like the idea of going for Bridges. I don’t think it’s worth going for Ben. Royce I might want but I don’t know his asking price.

  17. This is dumb. Stay away from Ben. And Portland givin up way too much for 1 player

  18. palmquac

Four players and 3 firsts in return for 1 player? No.

  19. Has Joe been stomped on by Draymon Green in this scenario?
