So they will now own 2 G-League teams?
finally lmao.
Suns left as the last poverty franchise.

No way Ishbia let’s that be the case for a while
This will simply just be their closing lineup from the end of the season
Blazers realized they need to send everyone on their roster besides dame to the g league
I thought they already started at the end of this past season
Obvious jokes aside, I do like that every team is opening up a G League squad. I think it’s good for the game if they start treating it like an actual minor league similar to baseball instead of being a no man’s land for scrubs trying to make it.
Chillll Woj, we’re getting a team too.
Can’t believe Sarver sold it for money lmao
Awesome!
I don’t understand why they don’t just start treating the G League like an actual minor league. Force the Suns to take a team and change things to work like this so teams can actually develop young talent and have rights to all the players on their minor league squad.
The entire idea of opening up the G League to high school players as a college alternative is failing because of college kids suddenly getting paid way more money than the NBA can afford. So why not just turn it into a real minor league?
Oof, I first read that as “The Portland Trail Blazers will begin operating ***AS*** a G League franchise” and thought somebody was trolling.
Wait they weren’t already? Could’ve fooled me
So that’s why they wanted Cam Reddish and Kevin Knox.
For a second there, I thought the plan to demote an underperforming NBA team into G League has become reality.
Who’ll replace them in the NBA?
Suns should set up a G League team in Tucson (~100 mi south) unless they want the team in the immediate suburbs that are less than 30 minutes away. Having a team play its games in Tucson, vs say Tempe, might make it a little difficult to share non gameday facilities with the parent squad the way that more and more teams seem to be doing (outside maybe the Pels and a couple others).
League fucked
Skinflints! Took you long enough. Sell the team already you hucksters!!
Seattle Trailfollowers finna be lit
I read ‘The Portland Trail Blazers will begin operating AS a G League franchise’
The Mesa Flares? Has a nice ring to it.
If it’s in Vancouver(Washington) they should be the Trail-Grizzlies. Blazelies?
damn TIL, I assumed every team had one
I’d like to take this moment to say fuck Sarver and have a nice day.
Oh hey, that’s pretty neat. W for Portland.
The Suns bench is already our minor league affiliate
Can they play in Boise by any chance?
Step 1: Make sure every NBA team has a G-League Affiliate
Step 2: Have 4 or so non affiliated teams that NBA teams have to pay to buy the rights for their players, so that non-affiliated teams can make money by training and developing competent NBA players.
Step 3: Profit
our bench is the G League team
I live in Phoenix and the absence of a G League team here is the only reason I haven’t broken through to the NBA yet.
I’m kinda surprised every team doesn’t have one already tbh.
They’re getting relegated 😔
Bring back the northern Arizona suns! Loved going to those games
Run the G league team in Seattle. I dare you!
^please
The Phoenix Mercury are the Suns’ minor-league affiliate. Suns bring them in to scrimmage to toughen up the men.
I know blazers are bad but calling it a g league operation is harsh even for Woj
We had a G league team. Sarver sold it.
