A good deal of that is Kawhi and back to backs imo. Going to be interested to see how that plays out.

    * Want to clarify that I don’t think B2Bs were the sole problem of the season. Just that it sounds to me that’s part of what Lawrence is talking about.

**Further clarification from Lawrence that he wasn’t taking about load management. https://twitter.com/LawMurrayTheNU/status/1651651619174612992?t=OTEh7kFRSRJF3l4cGcV8kA&s=19

Definitely opened my mouth too soon. Sorry bout that.

I don’t understand how we can take the regular season ‘more seriously’. We’re gonna tell our injury prone guys they can’t rest? Was I not aware that we were actively doing something we could have avoided this season that indicated we didn’t take the regular season ‘seriously’?

Is the reasoning for this, because we wouldn’t have matched with the suns if we were a higher seed? So we think our hobbled team would have beat the lakers if we landed the 2nd seed? If so, I don’t agree.

Also, I think that would make us all MORE frustrated if, come post season, we don’t play up to our regular season expectations.

Regardless, it’s not like we’re healthy every regular season anyways. Kawhi missed a ton of time this regular season. PG missed a ton of time last regular season.

You need a better head coach if you want a top seed.

The only way to take the regular season more seriously is to not experiment with dumb ass line ups when the stars miss.

  5. It seems like he’s talking at a both sides of his mouth. The team took regular season serious, but there was so much rest for the stars, load management, that games were thrown. At the same talking he’s saying that Kawhi had to deal with multiple injuries and it wasn’t just load management, but they never came out to really say that was the case. Why is it that they’re so secretive about injuries? If they don’t want people to make assumptions about people’s bodies, then just be transparent. If he’s not talking about rest and load management as far as taking the regular season serious, then what is he talking about? Is there a full quote or a full interview sor I can get the full context of what he’s trying to say here? Cuz it seems contradictory.

In 2019 Raptors finished with 2nd best record in the nba and kawhi was doing load management all season and didnt play a single back2back. We need to have a roster that can compete hard even without him…

Can someone explain to me how we are going to take the regular season more seriously when our two best players only play 60% of the games

  8. NONE OF THIS matter if our 2 stars are not healthy. None.

Idk if that’s the most pressing issue. You load managed the season, then drew an opponent that was absolutely beatable if (even one of) your stars play. Seems like the tougher honesty is that no matter how your regular season goes, it doesn’t matter.

tbf playoffs are a different beast. clips wouldve beat the suns if kawhi was healthy. i know the regular season was frustrating to watch because of no backup big and Ty’s experiments but in the end it comes down to playoffs and staying healthy.

Have to move Zubac for a more athletic rim protector imo.

Begin with yourself then Mr. Frank. Have you really managed this team well?
