This has to be the most nothing “incident” in a while lol.

We’ve got one of the most unpredictable playoffs ever going on rn, can we shut the fuck up about this now please

  2. PopeJustinXII

The emotional damage I have had to endure from reading people’s overreactions about this incident should entitle me to some sort of payout.

  3. I don’t know, random Nuggets fans on Reddit sure thought Ant was a certified thug. Maybe they should’ve been consulted for a second opinion.

Whether or not Edwards truly intended to hurt someone or not, NBA needs to do something about these man-children they have representing the league.

So far this year we’ve got Kyrie spouting anti-semetic nonsense, Morant brandishing guns in strip clubs, Westbrook ejecting fans, Draymond punching teammates and stomping on people and going WWE on the crowd, Wolves players punching each other and punching walls, Ant throwing chairs, various players punching and kicking each other in the nuts….I’m sure I’m missing some

He “moved and set down a chair 3 steps later” is awesome legal writing to describe what happened.

That said, this is the most nothing case ever and Denver PD is out of line for this. Y’all already won the series just move on

  6. dynastylicious

My god my heart sank after first reading the initial report and the reactions on Reddit. I legit thought he assaulted two girls and we were losing A1 for good.

  7. BradyReas

The fact that everyone involved wanted to press charges is pretty soft lol

  8. KingMonaco

Still a stupid reaction. He was inches away from having to write a fat check.

  9. >moved and set down 3 steps later

It really wasn’t in his way based on that one angle and he definitely did an extra swing of it between moving it and “setting it down”. It’s hard to tell just how hard he hit either woman with it but the “he was just moving it and he set it down gently” excuse is bullshit too. It was an emotional outburst and the 2 workers are also probably looking to get paid

  10. MyNameIsAMeme

Somebody told Edwards the woman was gay he couldn’t help it.

  11. confuddly

Intent to hurt is not a part of assault+battery, only intent to make the contact. If he intended to hit the chair that could be enough

  12. Winlessta08

Whether he intended to do it or not…..he hit a lady (looked lightly) with a chair…..

This isn’t like the incident where he purposely posted homophobic slurs online

But bruh don’t hit people with chairs

I wonder if she bruised that will be the real determiner of what happens with this

  13. flawschoolgrad

intent doesn’t matter for 3rd degree assault in Colorado – DPD officers work nuggets games and one was literally standing there watching as he tossed the chair around. The charges are justified and the women will get their money.

ETA: if someone reports a crime to a Denver cop, they literally have to complete some form of report or they will receive internal discipline. since a cop witnessed this, there was no way DPD was going to be able to not complete some type of report to document the incident.

  14. Kevon-Looneys-burner

I don’t see anyone asking the chair how it feels

  15. NYdude777

Not criminal, but obvious negligence. Intent is meaningless. Someone’s gonna get a payday.

  16. Lake_Shore_Drive

Ignore all these videos. If anyone got hurt for real rest assured it is documented. There was a uniformed cop standing right there lol these videos are beyond pointless lol

  17. retroracer33

If youre at a restauraunt and get mad about your order being wrong or something and started swinging chairs and end up hitting someone, you are def getting charged. I don’t see how this is any different.

  18. supremehat27

Harvey Steinberg? I feel like Cartman in that episode of South Park where he tries to avoid making fun of Kyle’s Cousin

  19. hotpocketthrowaway

Bruh people just can’t be honest about the issue lmao. He didn’t weaponize the chair against bystanders, but he also didn’t gently pick it up and relocate it. He had a dumb emotional outburst but nobody got hurt and it’s time to move on lol

  20. MikeLilPauseRodick

None of this is being talked about if Ant doesn’t act out like a child with no self-control. Stop talking shit about people you know nothing about and place the blame on the only person at fault.

  21. thegodfaubel

He still intentionally swung a chair. Whether he intent to hurt anyone or not is irrelevant. It’s negligence at best. As I said yesterday, it’ll be a minor settlement, an apology, and anger management as the most likely outcome

  22. Neatcursive

Eh. If the chair hit her, it is evidently a reckless act. It’s not a huge fucking deal or anything, but if there was contact, they won’t be baseless charges.

  23. ClevelandLifer

“Partially obstructed”? Clearly while running he reaches over the stanchion that separates the player walkway from the fans seats, grabs hold of a the chair, yanks it while knocking down the separating belt, does a 360, and then tosses it into the wall of the bleachers legs first. During the spin he hits the blonde in the back and on the toss the brunette in the legs.

Throwing a temper tantrum like a little baby.

  24. Dependent_Store952

Damn the reactions to this make me wanna never use this platform again. Yall are losers lol.

  25. bloodmuffins793

Yeah, dude needs to control his emotions better, but this is getting blown way out of proportion. Definitely doesn’t merit an assault charge.

  26. BuckNutley

How is it baseless? There is video of him swinging a chair around like lunatic and clipping a couple ladies.

Dude should plead guilty, because he is.

  27. ShortSqueezeNut

Attorney here. Out of control. I’d take every dollar I can from Edwards and move straight for litigation. Cash mine with his stupidity.
