…BUT after what Jimmy (or as I now refer to him in my house "Jesus Butler") did against the Bucks (especially in game 4 and game 5) I have an overwhelming faith in this team than I do doubt. The same thought remains true: Heat have to play damn near perfect basketball to give themselves a chance to win.
As it was for the Bucks series, I still think everyone outside of Jimmy is going to have to continue to step up. Again, if everyone can impose their will and play their game, take every game one game at a time and stay focused on the task at hand, win their matchup assignments, the Heat can win. If Duncan, Max, Kevin (and Gabe and Kyle to some extent) can hit their 3's, that opens the floor for Bam and Jimmy to work inside.
Bam won't have to battle Brook and Giannis down low but the Knicks' center Mitchell Robinson is more athletic than Brook and longer than Bam, so Bam still may have a battle on his hands. He can win if he stays agressive and plays winning basketball, makes the right decisions.
It will come down to Defense. Both coaches are defensive minded so it will be intersting to see who imposes their will on that end first. Part of me feels this series will come dowm to coaching strategies and adjustments within the game and after. Game plans will be vital. I'm sure Spo is going through film with a fine tooth comb.

I think the Heat takes it in 6. I think the Heat will have a more balanced attack, and Jimmy won't need to be Superman to win. Struss has really struggled, I think he's going to shine in this series. Knicks will leave him open alot, and he'll pull out of his funk, and hit his shots this series.

It really boils down to if Grimes and Randle can play. Grimes defended Butler well and the Knicks will need different guys to guard him

Jimmy will get doubled frequently like the knicks did with DM. I think knicks will win but will be tough series which can go either way. Mitchell Robinson vs Bam matchup will be key imo.
The biggest thing will be knicks double teaming jimmy and how well can role players execute when moving the ball. And, individual D to zone patterns on knicks. Coaching will be huge.

People overlook series during reg season. Knicks beat heat, cavs, and Celtics 3-1. Cavs kept saying playoffs are different… I agree but you lost 3-1 for reason. Don't overlook that fact. Knicks got something special going on as a team. The heat got jimmy.

The NBA predictors are becoming banal to the point of exhaustion to the viewers. Every eye is on Jimmy Butler. WHy?
Though he is really a great post-season player, I don't believe he can win by himself. In fact, Milwaukee helped him along, and you all know that.
Probably, the point I'm getting at is this: At this point in the season, let the adults control the discussion. How will the Heat adjust against the Knicks' physicality and Brunson, and the resurgence of RJ? How can their second unit match up with the second unit of the Knicks? Can you really double Brunson when the Knicks have IQ and Grimes ready to shoot the 3, or drive?

The Knicks will simply stick to Butler like a chewing gum to your shoe. No moment of rest. Every Heat possession.
THey have a complete platoon of guards practicing right now: Grimes, McBride, Hart, Barrett, Randle, among others.
The Heat pray their 3-pointers are good because the paint will be sealed.
You fqctor in Randle so much. He was not 100% in the 1st round, and he wasn't available in some parts of games. But the Knicks simply rolled ove rthe Cavs just the same.
The Knicks actually IMO, are better without Randle offensively because the ball moves and the fastbreak points just keep coming.
Offensively, RJ is more mobile and can execute the drives better, and Brunson, IQ and Grimes can take care of the long shots.
The Heat and Knicks are both composed and well coached. I can't honestly predict which team will win this series.
