  1. staymelooo

Thibs didn’t play Obi, played IQ too much, didn’t tell them to attack an injured Jimmy and played an injured Mitch too much. Just not good

  2. CrossingYoulnStyle

Anyone still think we’re better without Julius?

  3. If we make our 3s, we are through in 5.

If we don’t make our 3s, we are out in 4.

It really is that simple. Shooting 20% from 3 in the entire playoffs is a DISGRACE.

  4. xXDireLegendXx

Brutal 2nd half. We were in it still in the final 5 minutes and just got sloppy and it slipped away. Randle when he comes back will help. We can beat this team

  5. HokageEzio

Jimmy couldn’t move for 5 minutes and nobody went at him.

  6. HypeLife127

    7 for 34. We’ll shoot better in Game 2.

  7. TomasRoncero

we basically lost on that stretch where Kevin Love was cosplaying as Aaron Rodgers

  8. sweatyfish4

The whole game was brunson driving to the paint, drawing a double/triple, kicking the ball out, then one of our guys missing the wide open 3. 20% from three on wide open shots, at home in the playoffs, its embarrassing

  9. It ain’t over, but this one was not pretty.

We are going to come back like dawgs who haven’t eaten in days come game 2

  10. JoeBenigno

The boys let this one slip away at the beginning of the third quarter. Winnable game that they lost.

  11. zOmgFishes

RJ and JB can only do so much until the Heat send multiple bodies at them in the paint. We can’t hit a damn 3. Obi was okay, Hart his his first bad game in a while but man IQ is a disappointment.

  12. teknomatic

Were gunna need to hit some threes if we want to win this series. They packed the paint and dared us to shoot threes and it worked.

  13. redvelvet11

Immanuel Quickley has been absolutely terrible for the entire postseason. In a game where the Knicks were missing their All-NBA player, the entire team failed to step up.

  14. TheWumboligist

Barrett and Brunson had a great first half but both of them sold down the stretch (specifically last 5/6 mins around the time Butler got hurt). Inexcusable (edit: and also by Thibs) to not attack Butler while he’s hobbling and just dumb turnovers

  15. 7-34 from 3 and 0-7 from Brunson can’t happen.

  16. OnymousCormorant

Half this sub thinking we’re legitimately better down a decently efficient 25-10 player is absolutely insane

  17. NYGIANTS77

I’m still confident in our Knicks. It’s obvious we need Randle and just need to hit a few more shots

  18. mattjames94

Bounce back strong for Game 2. Can’t take any leads for granted against the Heat. Zero quit in that team.

  19. I still have confidence. Definitely need Randle game 2 even at 70%.

  20. theamanx8

Need Randle back. Obi fills in really well and plays within the offense but Randle IS the offense. Needed another bucket getter with JB kinda struggling tn. We will be fine.

  21. MachoMom

Heat are a tough team full of vets. We’ll come back and play batter but you don’t fuck around and give Jimmy a series lead.

  22. swarshmallow103

Knicks gotta work on that 3s. Miami doesn’t have JB Bickerstaff as coach.

  23. mattbrianjess

7-34. 🤷‍♂️. What can you do? Sometimes they just don’t fall

  24. Obi was the only player with a shot, and he got benched the end of the game

Jimmy was hobbled and they literally set a screen to get him off of RJ and had him attacking Lowry who’s an all defense type of player

Brunson got game planned out the game, and no team with Obi Toppin as their best shooter on the floor is putting up alot of points

  25. Up_Yours_Children

Heat were nothing special, and that’s worrying. We shoot like this we lose in 5.

  26. Just2GetBy

If we don’t hit our 3s then we’ll lose this series. The Heat are gonna hog the paint and collapse on Brunson/RJ/Randle and allow for wide open 3s.

  27. Butler was not a problem, his 25 is under his average… the problem was Lowry and Vincent popping off, which we need to stop

  28. spaceninj

    Reasons we lost:

    1) Three pointers

    2) Three pointers

    3) Discipline

    4) Three pointers

  29. We need to start Grimes next game. Hart played too much and needs to be part of the bench squad.

  30. BlueLeader87

Knicks disregarded Gabe Vincent & let Kyle Lowry have too much space.

Also, Obi got pulled and didn’t go back into the game, and RJ fked it up with his damn hero ball.

I said this ish. 2nd half, we got Thibs from game 2 in the Cleveland series. No adjustments, or rather bad ones, and it didn’t work. Spo saw early that the Knicks were attacking the paint, so they collapsed on the ball handler. Knicks have 3PT shooters, so they can penetrate, and then kick out. They didn’t make that adjustment, and Miami went from down 12 early, to winning by 7.

Not surprised at all that this happened. Not surprised if this series goes to 7.

Knicks can win w/o Randle. They just need to make the proper adjustments. And make their GOD DAMN FREE THROWS. 🤬

  31. AbbreviationsOk6721

All good stop tripping, they’ll be better

  32. TikTok24

I am calling for a total and complete shutdown of Sunday afternoon home games until we can figure out what the hell is going on.

  33. mutherfucker_jones

You would think the Knicks lost the series with these overreactions. It’s definitely surprising the Knicks were so tight but let’s not act like this is the Knicks we’ve seen all season and in round 1. Miami didn’t do anything special. Let’s get Randle back and take game 2.

  34. macdoogles

Live by the three, die by the three. It’s been the story of the whole Knicks season. When they’re hot they’re unbeatable but they very rarely are. Their offense doesn’t generate that much player movement but they have iso players who can get into the paint and break the defense down and Spoelstra even said it, take away the paint and make them hit shots. They couldn’t do it today. Grimes, Quickly, and Obi all have to shoot better. Obi had a bunch of shots after halftime because they were basically giving it to him but he couldn’t make it that consistently and Miami knew it.

I thought RJ started getting frustrated and basically gave up the game at the end. So many bad plays by him in the final stretch. They were going to lose anyway but would like to see him keep his composure.

Lowry, Love and Butler are all veterans who know what to do in the playoffs. The other role players can hit open threes and play defense. They’re not going to just give up on the offensive glass like Cleveland. This team was in the ECF last year and the NBA Finals during the bubble year. They were the 8th seed because of injuries. There’s no easy solutions here. Randle coming back will help and not sure what Jimmy Butler’s health status will be going forward but no matter, if the Knicks can’t make shots, control the offensive glass or avoid bonehead turnovers then they’re going to lose this series.

  35. whiskeyandtea

IQ has absolutely wilted in the playoffs. I love IQ and it really bums me out.

  36. The RJ haters are out in full force after that 4th quarter performance. Don’t bail on our guy who’s silenced the doubters for the last 3.5 games, because he made mistakes in the final 5 minutes.

This is going to be a LONG series. Let’s back our dudes, r/nba is going to be terrible.

  37. Quickley turning into a pumpkin has really hurt us, we need his shooting

hopefully Julius plays next game. losing game 1 at home is tough but I don’t think we’ll shoot that badly again

  38. SanchezPrime

    Let’s not overreact, people.

The doom and gloom is a bit much. Was this a tough loss? Hell yeah. Should they have attacked Jimmy? Absolutely!

The heat played a steady zone defense and kept the ball moving. Meanwhile, the Knicks had too many TOs.

Our guys will adapt and adjust in game 2.

  39. NintuneJoe

I do think we’re relying on Josh too much lately though. Can’t have him playing 40+ every game anymore

  40. MindPlayinTricksonMe

Good learning experience. Get back at it. All you can ask for.

  41. knick4life

“I don’t see how we lose to the Heat”

Simple. They make shots, we miss them. Welcome to basketsports.

  42. WearSomeClothes

    Free throw diffrence:
    Knicks – 20 (at home)
    Miami – 29(on the road)

Free throw difference – 9 free throws in favor or Miami.
Margin of victory : 7 points.

I will let you draw your own conclusions!!!
