James Harden’s big night, Celtics overrated, Joel Embiid plays in Game 2? | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

The Philadelphia 76ers pulled off a stunning Game 1 upset win over the Boston Celtics without Joel Embiid. James Harden showed flashes of his prime self, finishing with 45 points, 7-of-14 from three and six assists. The Celtics are down 0-1 and after the game, Jayson Tatum said quote: ‘Every game you lose is a missed opportunity.’ With Embiid sitting out due to injury, fans wonder when he will return in the series, including Game 2. However, Charles Barkley said that quote: ‘it would be stupid’ to play the MVP candidate in Game 2. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react to the 76ers big win, then debate whether Embiid should play in Game 2 and if Boston is overrated.

  1. Chris is very wrong on this. Embiid has a grade 2 LCL sprain. A grade 2 LCL sprain is a 4-6 week injury. There have been 12 days since the injury. He isn't ready. He will probably play if the team needs him but whenever he plays it will be earlier than he should.

  2. The NBA is filled with the greatest athletes on the planet, and the game itself is a joke. 3 pointers and taunting and you have a HOF career. Jordan would average 50+ in this league. I'll stick with the college game.

  3. nick happy sixers won…

but i think it will be cut short for them if embiid wont play.. unless we gonna see another houston harden

  4. I’m surprised at harden because he actually did this in the playoffs. He can do this in the regular season but in the playoffs he’s usually awful

  5. People don't realize he's been efficient all season and just played his role. If he truly wanted to be a 28+ ppg scorer he could and then the media would complain that he's a ball hog and not passing enough

  6. for his time in philly harden looked like he was hiding repercussion from injury from brooklyn days and then there were games when he tried to resort to his quickness. last night he tried to play his natural game without reservations to injury

  7. Chris talking like the Celtics aren't that good is wild. Weren't they in the finals last season? And let's not act like they were a perfect team under Udoka. They only got going after all-star break. This is not an overrated team.

  8. Nick Wright is right.. as usual.. all Philadelphia does is win… now of course we're not talking a perfect playoff run… but they were only ones to sweep the first round, and the only ones to remain unbeaten even with their best player out for half the time.

  9. I like how the video started in the middle of a joke like in Dumb and Dumber. "Then she said 'No. But that's a really nice ski mask!".

  10. He did less iso because he was criticized for not playing winning basketball and him being called small game james is why they tried getting another star in houston.

  11. Only problems with philly76ers is doc river choke but nuggets deepest team in nba philly76ers have good roster always they need release pj Tucker fire doc river choke hire nick nurse
