This is only the 45th time in franchise history the Celtics have lost a Game 1. (86-44, .662) In the previous 44 series, they’ve come back to win 14 of them, including two straight (2022 Vs. Milwaukee, Miami). So the answer is, Boston is 14-30 in series where they lose Game 1.

I don’t like this stat so I’m going to chose to ignore it
Teams that win the first game of a best-of-seven series go on to win the series 77% of the time, so 14-30 (32% win percentage) after losing game one actually outperforms the league average.
Yeah and the warriors lost game 1 in the finals too
Meh these typa stats don’t really matter. Anything can happen
Not good.
Didn’t we lose to the Heat and Bucks game 1 last year and still won the series???
So you’re telling me *this* team is 2-0 in this situation. Cool.
Yikes
These same Celtics lost Game 1 to the Bucks last season too. They actually lost 2 of the first 3 games of that series.
Tatum/Brown both looked pissed off and played like it in G1 of the Hawks series. Not so much since,
Yeah this stat also includes teams like those that have gotten swept or lost in 5 as first-round underdogs. Not super meaningful.
Holy fucking shit the Celtics are going to get swept and Jayson Tatum is going to take a giant shit on the logo in Game 4 and Jaylen Brown is going to start jerking his dick off while making uncomfortable eye contact with the TV cameras in Game 2; this stat confirms it.
