  1. Luka Has never played with another superstar. He has always been the only star. He has to learn how to do more than just defer to Kyrie and watch him handle.

  2. Looking back, I still think the DFS/Dinwiddie trade for Irving was the best possible decision for Dallas. Before that trade, they weren't going far into the playoffs at all. They didn't have positive contracts and had too many long term contracts to make any changes in the near future. This trade opens up 3 scenarios

    01) They resign Kyrie, and the Mavs now have the hardest thing for any organization to get… 2 all-star team superstar starters. Now you go all-in & change your roster around them. Bring in some versatile 3&D wings and a legit center. Use your picks & bring in some help

    02) Kyrie agrees to a sign & trade (which I honestly think I'd prefer.) If this happens, he'll have value to bring in another all-star caliber player, multiple starters, and/or picks to help your team in better ways. DeAndre Ayton/Chris Paul for Kyrie/McGee has been tossed around for example. That's just one example, but you'd never get Ayton for DFS/Dinwiddie.

    03) Kyrie walks for nothing. You would let Wood walk too it sounds. You have close to 30mil in cap space, and you have a ton of options. Albeit the free agents this year don't look too impressive, but at least you have an option to sign… you didn't before. This would be the worst case, and you hope to avoid… but even in the long term, this would be better than running it back with DFS/Luka/Dinwiddie/Powell for the next 3 years… If they don't make the playoffs again & arent able to sign much help, maybe get a nice draft pick next year as well. If Luka demands out, you'd get the biggest haul in NBA history most likely.

But long story short, I applaud them making a big move like this. It was needed.

  3. Grant is the best media reporter in DFW. His questions has always been related to basketball and players really appreciate it as well as he also love asking those. Seems like he’s asking same questions as us lol

    ✴MAVS PROBLEM:

    KEEPING A TRUE CENTER

Center: Use to be the guy who would score most of the points on the team because he was the tallest guy on the team and positioned himself physically as the closest man to the basket (hoop). Think Wilt Chamberlain (The guy with the most records of any professional athlete including basketball player. Wilt played center mostly and point/center one year which he had the most assist (a category which records are normally held by elite professional playmakers (now called point guards)). So the center position used to be valued as the number one most vital position to secure when formulating a strong starting 5.

DALLAS WON A CHAMPIONSHIP WHEN THEY HAD A TRUE CENTER AND DECIDED NOT TO OFFER AN OFFER TO KEEP COMPTON REPRESENTATIVE TYSON CHANDLER.

DALLAS SQUANDERED THAT PLAYAS TALENT AND THEN THE POTENTIAL TO REPEAT ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP.

    ✴MAVS PAST #1LESSON:

GET A SOLID CENTER AND KEEP HIM

    IN CONCLUSION:

MAVS SHOULD HAVE STARTED AND CONTINUED TO PLAY MCGEE (CENTER) AND WOOD (POWER FORWARD). THIS SOLVES A LOT OF THE SECOND (MULTIPLE) CHANCES THE OPPONENTS WERE GETTING BY BEATING MAVS AT DEFENSIVE AND OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS.

✴MAVS PLANS TO DUMP MOST OF THEIR ROSTER:
