  1. Rudy Gay’s career true shooting percentage is 53.5% and 2 assists per game. Career high true shooting was 56% and career high assists 3.5. Jalen Williams was already at 60.1% true shooting and 3.3 assists as a rookie and he’s way faster then Rudy Gay ever was and a better ball handler I watched a lot of Thunder games this year and that’s not a good comparison for his upside it’s a lot higher then that he has an All-NBA ceiling because of what he showed so early in his career and his physical traits. And don’t underestimate the value of him having a teammate like SGA and the Thunder’s coaching and training staff. Maybe what Josh is saying is true and he never ascends that high but saying he has “perhaps sort of sub All-Star upside” and the sucking him off comment is hating and shows Josh didn’t really watch him play that much and is ignoring how great his combine stuff was that gives him a very high ceiling. Him and Donovan Mitchell are only two players in NBA draft combine history to reach these incredibly specific thresholds for leaping ability (33.5" standing vertical), speed (3.11s 3/4 sprint), and length (1.116 wingspan/height) And he’s strong at 211lbs already. I get having doubts but capping a guy like that’s ceiling to sub all star Rudy Gay is pretty ridiculous in my opinion

  2. The season that SGA just had is historically great. He is the only player ever to hit all of these marks 31.4ppg 5.5ast 1.6stl 1blk on 62.6% true shooting and very few ever came close MJ was closest but didn’t quite have the efficiency

  3. Biggest moment was winning the play in game against a red-hot Pelicans team. So beneficial for the young core to get an important win like that

  4. Josh often talks about age coming into the league limiting a players upside but did it limit MJ, Scottie, Curry, DWade, Lillard, Butler, David Robinson, Ray Allen, Vince Carter, Shawn Marion etc.. etc.. all who came in the league the same age or older then Jalen Williams? Absolutely not so I think using that as a rule to say it’s unlikely this said player improves a ton compared to guys in the same draft class is not the best way to view things in my opinion you need to see how much they improve over their first couple seasons before making a determination or you miss on great players. If a guy is 23-24 it’s different but 21 is still young and he didn’t play like a rookie most of the season his upside is incredibly high now just turning 22
