Most def respect a former player like Clay.. His opinions are not as jaded and negative but honest as well..
That’s what I wanted to know… Why can’t really good running backs become better complete running backs? You would think if you are a starting running back on a good college football team, that you would want to develop every aspect of your game, including blocking, and receiving… How can you not get better as a blocker? If you’re a player isn’t the whole point of becoming an NFL football player to be the best player you can be and win a championship? But the number one goal should be, become the best running back or best linebacker, etc. you can be… why do some running backs struggle with blocking? Why is it so difficult to do in the first place? And if it allows you to stay on the field and become a number one running back wouldn’t you work your ass off to get there? It doesn’t make any sense.IF Foreman can improve his blocking..he’s ok as a receiver.. but if is a good blocker he could be RB1 because he runs like a RB1..Regardless, they have 2 big, 225 plus RBs, who can run with power , elusiveness and speed.. they can wear down and demoralize a defense..I want a balanced offense.. I’d rather see passing at around 250yds and rushing at about 150 yds.Justin can score so quickly on a broken play or lack of contain..or a deep pass..Being able to ground and pound..ball control.. and better defense.. and our secondary is going to be even better.. and the pressure should be better as well..
Look..Velus may never be a great receiver.. He had a rough start..and when you watch his passes caught at Tenn.. they were nice, easy throws.. He isn’t a great catcher but if you use him properly.. screens, tosses, reverses, slants or bombs away and kick returns..Dude is electric with the ball in his hands as an open field runner.. and if they can’t utilize that talent it’s on them..Never just give up on guys like that..His natural talent needs to be developed and used correctly..because he’s elite with the ball in his hands..
