Darvin Ham Apology Party

We owe this guy an apology or two. MFs like me went from considering him the basketball equivalent of ISIS to thinking of him as a sports genius. The schizophrenia is real.

His first year as head coach and going to western finals. Man this guy deserves so much more respect

  2. My dude looked like Luke Walton during the regular season, but now he is like Phil Jackson. What a bamboozle.

  3. hansislegend

He was just load managing his coaching for the playoffs.

  4. SnapsOnPetro45

He’s not Darvin Scam anymore but he definitely needs to keep listening to us

  5. Vexing_Pie

Anyone else liking this coaching staff now? The Jent, Ham, and Handy trio have grown on me. Handy is the best player development coach in the league and connects with all our players. Jent is a great X and Os assistant and Ham brings grit/motivation to the team as well as strong defense. I mean we’ve come back from a lot of tough situations and part of that is Ham sparking fire in the players .

  6. marshmelo24

I’m convinced this man was trolling all season long

  7. DGVega93

I told y’all he was gonna be in his bag tonight. Out coached Kerr!

  8. ActuaryExtension9867

He was dealt a bad hand until the trade deadline. Started cooking as a coach when he got the personal.

  9. CradleRockStyle

The first rookie head coach to go to the conference finals in 30 years, I think.

EDIT: Sorry, I meant the Western Conference finals, not just any conference final.

  10. brianbrainbrian

He out coached Kerr, a championship calibre coach

That’s all you need to know

  11. solid_rook7

Fire this ma… err.. I mean pay this man!

  12. KarrotMovies

People were saying, if we make WCF, it’s in spite of him. I totally disagree. He’s been doing a fantastic job this postseason

  13. mclovin1696

    I’m sorry coach 😭 perdoname!

  14. Danger_Recks

Arm chair Head Coaches here in Reddit need to bend the knee

  15. KingVibrant

LeBron taking another rookie coach to a championship would legitimately be insane.

  16. Js_On_My_Yeet

Would have been perfect if DS didn’t eject himself. Still, that was a great fucking decision by him. He gets his credit, but he was holding on to TOs a bit too long at some points in the game. He needs to be more consistent in calling them earlier.

  17. KingChav

I sincerely apologize, he’s grown tremendously this playoff run.

  18. _Tacitus_Kilgore_

Sorry for criticizing your 3-guard lineup… turns out you just needed the right three guards! Hell of a job, coach.

  19. crimsonsentinel

This series really turned my opinion on him. Great adjustments and coaching.

  20. iKnockout

I admit I was a Ham Hater, but credit where credit is due – he made excellent adjustments and coached us through the first two rounds of the playoffs. While I would love for us to win the ring you can’t take it away from him that he coached us to the WCF in a year we started 2-10

  21. obliterateopio

Sorry Darvin. Great adjustments made game to game. There has always been an adjustment after a loss that results in a Win. Truly living up to the ā€œdefense firstā€ philosophy that was mentioned before the season started.

  22. DirtySmiter

I’ll happily apologize for doubting Ham. The adjustments were excellent this series. Can’t wait to see how he handles Denver

  23. naaahbruv

It took some time to adjust but he got there. You can imagine the immense pressure he must have felt at the start of the season

  24. crawshay

I’m here to say I was wrong. I was out on Darvin halfway through the season. Now, we’re all the way into the WCF and the last two series were won with confidence due to his adjustments. I really love that he has the team calling out STAY HUMBLE out of the huddle in the locker room. It’s like this years version of ‘Jobs not finished’.

  25. Altacct1234567890

I apologize. He’s made good adjustments that have lead to wins.

  26. pAnDa_sHuRiKeN

This guy plays 3d chess. Hats off to him and to his coaching staff.

  27. incredibleamadeuscho

Always believed in Ham. Don’t check my post history.

He outcoached the best modern NBA coach in Steve Kerr in 6 games.

  28. Berserkr1

Out coached Kerr. By the way he definitely looks a bit like former Killswitch Engage lead singer Howard Jones

  29. juicewar01

Really turned the corner. Coach Ham is legit. Lets get it coach!!

  30. Frost45901

He honestly did the best with what he had before the trade, but yeah he’s legit.

  31. sultan_mo

People calling him a terrorist had me crying

  32. kylo-I-ren

Holding all the real coaching til playoffs to keep all his cards hidden

  33. relivesa

Most definitely. WB got Vogel fired and had the fans turned on Ham.

Got Ham a squad and he’s done some good stuff.

  34. SnooTigers806

Darvin Ham is nothing if not resilient.

He was given a shit roster, hated on since day 1, and pushed through it to get this team to buy in.

He’s not the best coach in the NBA, but he has shown consistent improvements in decision making as the season has progressed. Just the difference in effort and competitive spirit of this year’s team speaks volumes compared to last year. Ham deserves his damn respect.

  35. IskaralPustFanClub

I’ve slandered this man all season but when it matters the most he’s had my pants down. Credit where it’s due, he’s been phenomenal in the playoffs.

  36. I gotta jump in here. My sincerest apologies Mr. Ham šŸ™

  37. Ok_Concentrate_75

I always said he would be great with a roster who buys in. I’m excited for next year regardless of how the rest plays out but still…go get a ring lol

  38. ablackcloudupahead

He out-coached one of the greatest coaches of all time. Seriously this man is on some GOAT tier shit rn

  39. Dildozer_69

This dude is fucking legit, he ain’t no Darvin Scam
