An NBA scout recently argued that the Orlando Magic would be the most interesting landing spot for Victor Wembanyama. Imagine a young core of Wemby, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Markelle Fultz, Bol Bol, Jalen Suggs, Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony.. Via@AlexKennedyNBA

I just typed a whole response on that in another thread in NBA sub. imma copy it but absolutely Vic to Orlando should be the biggest buzz than any other team.

“I love seeing all these posts that usually just refuse to mention Orlando and Vic in the same sentence (not you Op who got them #4 but usually Orlando isnt even listed). Orlando’s biggest weakness outside of shooting is their help defense and rim protection. WCjr is a fantastic POA defender, and ace defender but so often things get loose and opponents get good looks. Vic + WCjr is an elite combo. I actually consider WCjr a top 8 PF right now and a top 13 Center right now.

Kelle, Franz, Paolo (yes he may need to work on his lateral quickness but he has shown great defensive awareness at times and its really only about losing a few pounds and not planting on the recover), Dell, Vic. That’s a perfectly synergistic, cohesive and dominant grouping. Every single one of the previous Magic starting 5 have shown vast improvements to shooting by the end of this season (including Markelle who has made some college days shots). Franz can be considered a prospective 50/40/90 guy by next season, Dell has found his deep stroke especially from corners but he has actually hit far DEEP shots also, and Vic has shown good shooting in the games I have watched. Vic is a glove that fits and it would instantly be known the scoring distribution: Franz/Paolo/Vic(in any order depending on matchup) next is Cole/Markelle and finally its Dell/fill. Orlando also generally plays an egalitarian/win by committee style in which anybody can pop off and the rest of the team generally follows the advantages/hot hand instead of forcing up shots like a quota for top options which also works well with the amount of playmaking skill around this team.

Also I am pretty sure that many people close to Vic have dropped hints or statements pushing Magic propaganda recently. I believe I remember at least 2/3 who are really close to him that indicated a favorable view of Orlando. These things are subtle but yall think they are random? Vic has guys in his knowhow indicating that “they-themselves or Vic-himself” like Orlando and Orlando system. Vic is surrounded by Orlando likers and he himself could be influenced.

I have seen some big youtubers say Vic fits OKC the best, but OKC just drafted Chet (who got injured the first time he publicly faced an NBA body and it was literally on the first play) I highly doubt Chet will be an effective PF since he is liable to get run over and if he is playing the 5 I think that Vic is being misused, Chet/Vic are too similar with similar faults that arent best coexistent fits. Spurs are a fun idea but I actually feel like Vic doesnt fit them that well and it will be more like they will have to fit around Vic (as in its his team day 1 and everything changes around him). Houston will have to choose between Vic and Sengun I dont believe they fit that good together unless Vic shows way more slashing ability on PNRs. Pels will have to bench Val or Herb and probably start Dyson to make a good synergistic SL to incorporate Vic, well they can try Cj, bi, herb, Zion, Vic but I dont like it. I also feel like Val fits best with Zion’s playstyle. Detroit is filled with bigs and they would have to make many decisions on PT since adding Vic absolutely means many changes. Vic does fit very good with Cade/Ivey imo and its a fun fit but lots of movement and inner competition and probably roster shuffling/trades after drafting Vic which can cause alot of variability.

Only Orlando imo can add Vic easily to the SL, and keep a similar scoring system, a similar playstyle, run same sets, and instantly get gears moving forward while not sacrificing anything. Kelle, Franz, Paolo, Dell, Vic. Cole, Suggs, (#11 Draft), Caleb Houstan/Moe Wagner/Chuma Okeke, JI. Even BB can slide in if he gets a bit better but this is limited changes since the team is already pretty set and roles are known.

Orlando is the clear cut best fit since he fits position of need, fits synergistically and cohesively, fits timeline, and is a “fun”(maybe subjective but I do believe most NBA fans consider Orlando a fun team to watch) up-and-coming team with multiple engaging storylines and career redemption/reviving stories. No other teams fits all of those boxes and seemingly are a competitive team without Vic and will be even more competitive with him.” (end)

Vic fits the best on Orlando, its the most interesting landing spot, and in the future it probably makes Orlando one of the marketable teams in the league. So many fun, young, and seemingly charismatic individuals on one team will bring alot of money to the league. Plus Orlando is a still developing area with many huge tourist destinations/spots, and the surrounding areas like Kissimmee and Poinciana are also developing very fast recently. Everything is going to combine together and could make a CF an even bigger mega cities. They do need to work on roads for sure and continue the development of the public transportation systems they started.
