I'm going to recommend this video to everyone I knowš„
Thanks for watching, everyone. Just FYI we are going LIVE tonight on YouTube following the Lakers / Nuggets game so be there. Also here is the Full Dunker Spot episode previewing the Conference Finals. https://youtu.be/KsmHTLn7_cM
ngl all these coaches are getting fired after winning coty bc the front office keeps dicking around with the roster chasing a superteam when the real superteam is built from the ground up based on a foundation of discipline and commitment
If you cant get your team a ring within 5 years kiss your job goodbye
Cannot thank y'all enough for bringing them on to the channel. Well-done, actual basketball analysis has been a breath of fresh air as an NBA fan just done with most NBA media rn
Miami and Spurs are probably one of the few orgs that has decency and loyalty to good coaches.
Doc is just not a championship coach. Iām sorry but he has been blessed with god rosters.
I mean the dude got gentlemen swept in the finals. Reversed by the mavs. I aināt even gonna blame him much for this season. Roster was some cheeks. That said, they guy just isnāt a great coach. We donāt need to get into adjustments cuz most people donāt really know what those look like, but this guy didnāt change anything game in game outš
These rosters should be at the amount of wins they are. I appreciate the uplifting take, but all the teams you mentioned have some of the best squads in the league. Joe mazz barely a coach, and is proving that you barely need to do anything and a good roster will carry you throughā¦
Everyone was complaining about the lack of black coaches, now Durant got another one fired and gonna be replaced with a white coach.
Very hard to fire players. GM will find a scapegoat by firing the coach
Itās ok to blame the players sometimes. It might not be the cones fault when you Terri best players combine for 24 points.
That being said, Bud canāt make an in game adjustment to save good life so I get why heās gone.
It just seems like thereās mounting pressure that increases every single year across the league to immediately perform at the highest level and maintain that success ā players and coaches alike but with different expectations.
I keep egging on the Suns because they are the easiest to make an example out of. I kinda understand the argument of new ownership coming in and paving their own way with their hand-picked guyā¦but you just traded what has been your team and its chemistry for a potentially top-12 player of all-time forā¦8 regular-season games and a postseason run and the expectation is to win it this year because of that? Then, when your stars cave in an elimination game, you blame the coach? Monty should get some scrutiny but it shouldnāt have cost him his job. Booker, after being lights out for the majority of this postseason, wentā¦what? 3 for 12? Last yearās game 7 against Dallas went 3-11 and scored only 1 point in the first half? Players need to be held more accountable for their inability to perform rather than just blame it on the coach for ānot motivating themā or ānot having a proper gameplanā.
The Doc firing, I understand the most because of his history of game 7 disappointments. But the Monty and Bud firings, two years removed from making the Finals, I fail to understand. It feels like ownership gets impatient and wants to make a move to see if something new works. And itās easier to move a coach than to move a megastar with $100m+ contract.
Also, again, these are not bottom-feeding teams. Giannis said it best. There is no failure in sports. People think thereās something wrong with perennially making only the conference semis or the conference finals. Idk, Iām not particularly happy with what precedent these firings do for the league. End rant.
Bucks fan here. Wish bud the best but this was a long time coming. Giannis heroics in 2021 were the only reason he wasnāt canned then. When things are all good and dandy bud is a great coach but when things get tough and he needs to change things up, he looks clueless
I question how much coaches matter in basketball but I can never actually get any answers or conversation about it because people just tell me I'm a dumbass.
I aināt sub to you to watch these guys I subbed to watch you JJ Reddick. I know your trying to help your friends but having they Own channel and just posting their link would help. I aināt trying to be a di*k but itās disappointing clicking your video with your thumbnail and itās a whole different person.
We need to start firing players š¤£
how tf does pop still have his job?
JJ, your podcast has near-single-handedly made me a fan of basketball again. You bring some of the best voices amongst current and former players onto the show and this is a perfect example of that. I hope you keep this going for a long time, as much as I would love to see you crush it as head coach of the Raptors
man i wish PJ stayed in miami…
I can't speak for Suns fans that watched Monty Williams, but as a Bucks fan coach Bud was straight up terrible. There are no excuses for the lack of adjustments year after year specifically defensive adjustments in the playoffs. Great coaches are always adjusting and changing rotations to get better… win or lose. I didnt see that with coach Bud.
Finally a balanced take on Doc, Philly and Joel
I like these guys. A humble suggestion for the sound, I think the noise gate release is too quick and ends up to me being distracting and disorientating. Hopefully Iām the only one to feel this though and if so never mind
Greatest success a nba coach can achieve is keeping their job.
