Only a non-playoff team would hire her. She might be an awesome NBA coach, but teams would view it as risky taking a chance on the first woman coach without prior NBA coaching experience.

What’s the worst that can happen, we lose in the 2nd round again?

    >most important coach in the history of this city

Are the Sixers trying to win a chip or some other kind of trophy ? I’ll guarantee you any trophy that’s not the chip is not putting asses in the seats.

Harden would make it rain at practice.

If we were in the process and had years for her to grow, sure. A team with championship aspirations bringing in a coach from college is a jump, let alone one that has to adjust to coaching a different gender.

Here for it if you’re going to get rid of Harden and Harris, and add a backup big for Joel to give her a clean slate

Becky hammon would be fire if we rebuilt around maxey

  9. It would only be a dumpster fire if the players proved to be Neanderthals and refused to listen to a female coach. Staley is a Hall of Famer as both a player and a coach and far more accomplished in the sport than either Embiid or Harden.

I dont know who that is but does she have NBA or even professional basketball experience?

The movie “Eddie” coming to life in real time… I’d be down. She has instant credibility, hall of fame resume & knowledge of the landscape here… too bad the ownership won’t be that daring or bold.

This is worth doing just to piss off WIP callers

This is a bad idea simply because she’d come in with the expectations that the team will be competing for a championship and anything less than an ECF is a failure.

Stop trying to legitimize the WNBA as if it’s anything close to the NBA. Stop it. It’s the difference between an elephant and an elephant seal. It sounds similar but that’s it.

Having players from both leagues do commercials together ad nauseam won’t raise the social standing of these WNBA players in any meaningful way. It’s annoying, at best.

Personally, I’d rather have any coach from any of the elite 8 teams this year over Dawn Staley.

She has said over and over again she has no interest in the Men’s game. That’s fine. She’s a great women’s coach, and seems happy where she’s at. This inquirer article is just trying to drive clicks and spark a debate about nothing.

The coach that didn’t make an adjustment on the player who was cooking
