Confidence level in the Texans WR? Scale 1-10

Ian Rapoport on the Houston Texans breaking news:
“Reunion: The #Texans are signing pass-rusher Jacob Martin to a 1-year deal, source said. He played on the edge for Houston from 2019-2021 before landing with the #Jets and #Broncos last year.”

NFL.com On Texans top priority after the 2023 NFL Draft
“I have DeMeco Ryans atop my candidates for Coach of the Year. I expect new offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik to become a household name in time, as his Shanahan-inspired offense takes hold in Houston. Arrow up for C.J. Stroud and the Texans, but the rookie passer’s progress will take time unless the front office finds more help around him. After trading away Brandin Cooks, Houston’s cast of wideouts looms as suspect. Nico Collins is a promising third-year building block. Hope surrounds John Metchie III’s return from acute promyelocytic leukemia. From there, though, Robert Woods, Noah Brown and a whole bunch of inexperience round out the cast. General manager Nick Caserio isn’t afraid to churn the roster, so expect the Texans to find veteran assistance in time.”

PFF On Nico Collins potential breakout for the 2023 NFL season
“Collins might have already had a breakout season in 2022 if not for a couple of injuries and below-par quarterback play. His 72.4 PFF grade ranked only 35th among wide receivers last season; however, passes going his way were completed only 56.9% of the time, the 10th-lowest rate in the NFL despite Collins not dropping a single target all season. In fact, he was just one of nine receivers not to drop a pass among players with at least 50 targets last season.”

  1. So Collins is WR#1 What in his NFL Career says that?!?! He is talented but I'm not seeing #1 yet.

  2. The fact Nico is listed as WR1 and a recovering cancer patient is WR2 tells me we are in big trouble

  3. Nico Collins is the next Courtland Sutton
He has extremely high expectations and is expected to have a breakout year but all I see him just developing into a wr 2 and Tank Dell and Metchie Stepping up to be an amazing wr duo

  4. They have an X receiver (Collins) no Y receiver and about 5 or 6 slot receivers. Only 1 slot receiver can play at a time.
