These two teams provide perfect juxtaposition of merit vs guess work in terms of team culture. MIA GM slowly, arduously earned his position. Same can be said about Pat Riley. Spo may of been a roll of the dice… Fifteen years ago! But he is regarded as one of, if not, the best coach in the league. Celtics? Promote rookie HC, with marginal success to be their rookie GM, who then advances a guy who broke team conduct rules… then Stevens does it again! Elevates assistant way over his skis, With A Championship Roster! Where is the Owner in all of this?
I agree that basketball analysis can explain what we are seeing – there are also root reasons why players are put in position to win or lose. Admittedly, my critique is harsh regarding a team that had a ton of success the last couple years, but losing this series to the Heat is revealing. No one ever said, 'It's not the Jims and Joes – it's the X's and O's'… but that is what happened, at least so far, in this series.
Lebron James is not #2. to MJ. Maybe #3 or #4. Kareem is in there before Lebron. Too many fails in the finals while stacking teams in the east.

And it's not just about WHO you pick. You're totally misunderstanding, there's nothing wrong with picking the Lakers. It's the blatant disrespect the media has shown the Nuggets even IF they pick them.
Like I still don't understand how Perk has a job after the toxic vitriol he's spewed.
Here's a direct quote from your boss for instance Mr. Cowherd:

So yeah, Denver isn't great at anything? So even when the guys who pick them are saying this kind of awful crap it's straight up disrespectful. It's also disrespectful when you spend the entire show talking about how the team who lost can win next time without barely talking about the team who won.
Again shout out to guys like Legler, Lowe, Reddick and Barkley who no matter who they picked were at least respectful.
