[Will] Paul George on how James Harden’s possible return to Houston could affect Jalen Green: It could hinder your development having to play with such a ball dominant player. Jalen agrees and says he hasn’t talked to Harden much about the rumors

he said “I agree with you and that’s all i’ll say.” It’s very clear he doesn’t want harden back either, really hope our franchise listens
He averaged 41/33/79 splits this season, idk what makes him think that an elite playmaker like Harden wouldn’t help him. Just forcing tough shots is not good development.
James Harden is exactly what the team needs. A PG who can read the court, stop double teaming JG. We should stop thinking about thie being JG’s team. Every player is a rookie, and its as much as their team as JGs. And haven a guy like harden would only help, he and coach would make these rookies accountable, which, in all honest, they were not.
Besides, this was the last tanking year, now we need to start winning.
I agree too.
Nice to hear from him but frankly he isn’t in the position to influence the front office at all. That’s the front offices job.
The King of Houston is Alpi
Team buildout and term on Harden will be the deciding factor. With Harden rumored to want “basketball freedom” it raises some concerns. We’ve all known for quite some time that he’s a great distributor (Hell, even Skip Bayless called this back in OKC when he said Harden should play the 1 and slide Westbrook to the 2).
Team buildout and scheme is what matters insofar as if you have a system where you want Jalen being dominant, that’s one thing. If you want a traditional PG facilitator, or to run the team through Sengun, you really can’t justify going with Harden – especially if you draft a guy like Amen Thompson to be a full on classic point guard, as well. If you want a team run through a great facilitator, Harden makes sense but the term becomes the issue in how long you want to hold onto him before you move to Thompson and turn the keys over to the kids.
Essentially, Houston needs to address a potential identity crisis issue and our offseason is going to give a huge indicator as to how exactly Udoka is going to leverage what we have and what Stone thinks this team’s final identity needs to look like. I’m really interested in which way we go because we (1) absolutely need veteran leadership to help shape the team and (2) desperately need to instill a level of discipline to make sure we don’t go into a full AAU system that won’t go anywhere.
Only Harden fans want Harden back. All the players agree that bringing a ball dominant guard like him back would only hinder development. We might as well draft a PG and hand him the ball instead of giving it to Harden, who won’t be part of our future contending squad.
I’ve been relentlessly positive about Jalen Green. I think he’s driven to be the greatest and his 3 level scoring, explosiveness, and range put him in rare company. But this interview sounds really bad. A rookie hazing another rookie is some seriously wack shit. It’s got me all of a sudden very concerned about Jalen’s overall personality, and makes me wonder if that’s a large reason why Gordon was so upset, or that national media have been so dismissive of him. They know something we don’t?

A lot of people in here are acting stupid like jalen doesn’t make perfect sense aren’t you guys expecting him to become some superstar if harden comes to the team he’s dribbling the entire shot clock he will shoot the ball the same amount as green maybe even y’all look at his assist numbers and act like he still wasn’t ball dominate there’s no embiid on this team harden will dominate the ball all game every game
I still feel like Harden’s camp is using his Houston ties to score him a bigger bag or influence on a contender. I find it hard to see how focused the last few years he has been on winning a ring he would just settle for a payday on a team that is mostly younger guys who need guidance.
PG just scared
It’s either Harden or JG but both cannot play on the same team, at this point in their career i’d pick Jalen Green.
