The only case for Miller is to trade down and draft him at #3. Regardless, Scoot is the pick at #2.

The biggest NEED the Hornets have is Franchise Player regardless of position. Big name free agents just don’t come to Charlotte so they need to draft these types of players whenever they can. So picking at 2 – BPA and NEED line up perfectly. They should clearly take Scoot. He has the higher ceiling and the higher floor. Miller has potential as a player but he also has more bust potential than some people think. Performance alone I would be concerned how poorly Miller performed offensively in several big games and in games when the defense became more intense.
I looked up some Amen Thompson highlights for the first time yesterday. And the commentators in that league are wild. It’s like some hometown highschool gym rat commentary. Definitely worth a look if you need a laugh today.

Especially if we retain DSJ, who at this point is poor man's Scoot…
We have at least 4-5 players who can go to the basket, score or pass out to the perimeter… 1 of them (not named Melo, who is working on bettering this part of his game) is an expert at drawing fouls.
My point is, we have players who can do much of what Scoot does, we dont have an elite wing with the offensive range of Brandon (a consistent threat from 3 Line) who also plays exceptional defense.
Having Brandon allows us to leave Kai in the GLeague to develop his skills as a 5 without jerking him so often between pro & amateur ranks.
It seems like ever since the lottery, a lot of NBA writers and analysts (excluding LOH) have REALLY been trying to pump up Miller for that #2 spot. Just kind of weird to see.

I agree with the other Doug Brandon Miller is the pick. Or it’s time to start looking for lamelo trades because the defense in a scoot lamelo back court will be unacceptable and can be easily exposed by teams with superior movement shooting, size and driving ability.
I’m ok with scoot but it forces you to compensate for his weakness both offensively by taking the ball out of a savant like lamelos hands and defensively by building around sub optimal positional size like how the hawks are forced to cater to trae young.
Idk. The closer to the draft we get, the more I’m feeling Brandon miller. We’re one of the worst teams in the league, so I understand drafting for “fit” shouldn’t be a thing, but do we really need a small gaurd who can’t shoot?
In my opinion there is no case for Miller. Scoot is so obviously the pick that there shouldn’t even be a debate
