No clue why I see nephews on Twitter dying for us to trade ATL’s picks for a washed vet when they might well be worth more than gold if Trae’s out this summer.
Obviously just speculation, but this is the first I’ve seen of this potential move. Thoughts?

If it was another team, maybe. But considering they mentioned the Lakers the whole operation is automatically less likely. Lakers are the easiest franchise to use for clickbaiting and will always be associated with a lot of possible trades just because.
Makes absolutely no sense for Hawks. What can Lakers even give them??? Lakers are still limited on what 1sts they can send, their best young players are RFA, and Hawks are in no position to tank. Can’t think of any reason why Hawks would do this.
Could see them moving Young but Lakers don’t make much sense because they don’t have much young talent or draft picks to offer.
Sadly hawks didn’t trade for dj for one year to then trade their best player while having none of their picks really. I see them more likely to go all in them blow it up, this team was in the playoffs.a trae injury one year is more likely than a trade

Sadly, I don’t think these will ever yield top 10 lottery potential. Having no 1rps for the next three years, the hawks are incentivized to try and win… there’s literally no point in tanking. I don’t think they’ll be good, but I see them s fighting for 6-8 seed each year.
Now to that point though, a 12-18 pick each year for the next 3 years, + our own, + the other protecteds…. licking my lips over here. Brian Wright did us wRIGHT
