Please don’t. We don’t need a ball hog that chokes in the playoffs unless it’s a team friendly deal.

And if we trade any of our young players for Jaylen brown, I’ll be officially done with the rockets

Get ready to watch JG and Jabari stand on the perimeter and be turned into C&S role players. We’re watching Denver win with team ball movement and yet we’re opting for James to have “basketball freedom” in Houston again… unserious organization. Stone and Tilman are clowns oof they go through with this.

Also Harden, Jalen and Sengun in the starting lineup? Our defense is about to be even more horrific.

This sounds like a deal is immanent. I really hope Harden is going to be a mature vet presence and not revert to his old Houston ways (as fun as they were).

Really don’t want harden. Why give this man the bag rather than going to get a future multiple time all star in scoot and being set for the next decade?

I want him back, he’d be good for the team, i just hope we can get him on 3 years not 4

Maybe a front loaded 4 year deal with a team option on the last year

  6. Dope.

Harden/Sengun pick and roles about to be crazy.

Also, crazy how when he left, we all knew he was an elite passer and facilitator. The fanbase laughed that the Nets and 76ers were surprised at that.

And now that he may come back, a lot of the same people are crying ball hog?

    Lol this fanbase is interesting

If he wants to come here as a veteran presence, help the team make the playoffs for postseason reps, offer some ballhandling stability, cool.

If he wants to come here at the max, for “basketball freedom,” and to remake the roster in his image while our best young players stand around and watch him iso, no thanks.

Unfortunately I am expecting the latter.

Harden was willing to adapt his game around Embiid, and he finished the season as one of the best pgs (surely the best playmaking guard). Why is everyone so sure he’s gonna be a “ballhog” and revert back to his primary scorer ways?

Also we’ve all been saying we need more veteran presence and a proper point guard. We’ll, Harden is both of those.

If he’s so hell bent on coming back, surely he’s aware that the Rockets aren’t contending in 2023-24, and that the team needs him to mentor the young guys. Seems obvious, so idk why the overwhelming opinion on this subreddit is so against Harden coming back.

Was it fun watching him here? Absolutely. Will he be willing to come back on a team friendly deal? We will see.

We know hardens ceiling at this point. It’s probably not a championship. I just don’t understand risking the development of our youth and being ok that our potential is only the playoffs. We need a championship mentality player. If we haven’t found that guy or we aren’t trading for that guy, then what are we doing?
I see we are linked to brooks and harden and I’m not sure if we aren’t just ok being a playoff team, which is sad.

Iko kind of just throws everything out there huh?

  12. RGPISGOOD

Literally no other team wants to pay him the max but here in Houston: “We’ll gladly give it to you to fuck up our process”

2 year vet min plus a bonus (lil sumthin-sumthin for the clubs), I’m fine with. Any more than that, absolutely not.

  14. dmoneybangbang

Gross… Harden centric offense because folks can’t move on

  15. handofluke

Really unfortunate. Just doesn’t seem like the leader you want for a young team.

Edit: Not to mention, if he comes here, he doesn’t care about winning a championship. Why would you want a guy like that?

  16. I love Iko but I keep seeing the same headline for as long as I’ve seen Janet Yellen warning us that the debt ceiling will be reached and cash runeth out as early as June 1st on repeat.
