Contrary to the old post here on Ausar’s shooting, here’s an updated video on how his mechanics have improved. If he’s available at 6, I think he could be our guy.

   I am so split on Ausar. On one had we need shooting and he definitely isn’t the guy for that criteria. But an athletic playmaking tall wing is always so valuable. His handles and vision are really good and he could be a great wing pairing with Franz on defense and offense. It’s just that we are so lacking on shooting is it worth picking a slasher type for our 2 guard. It’s up to our FO guess and I trust them after the last 2 drafts

   Not that it means anything but I’d just like to point out that this video differs because it has cuts between every shot and he only takes about 4 threes in it anyway.

   The mechanics look nicer, that’s about the only thing that can be taken from this video.

   His shot looks good to me, I’m all for taking the guy with the highest ceiling at 6.

   We will have our pick of of Dick, Hawkins, Hendricks, Howard to get a true shooter at 11

   I love the idea of him. But OTE was such a low level league. It was basically all transition and very few half court sets. From what I seen he had the ball in his hand a lot. He’s not going to have that luxury here we have so many ball handler from Kelle, Cole, P5, Franz. I’m not sure if he’s going to have the IQ or the shooting skill to be valuable for us.

   IMO we should still be shooting for the stars with this pick. If that’s Ausar we should take him no matter what his shooting looks like right now. As much as we’re all high on Paolo and Franz we should be continuing to take the highest upside guy at our pick until we visibly have THAT guy.

   Shooting would help right now. Having three wings who are all fucking fantastic players would help in the long run. If we think Ausar can be that guy then he should be our pick, end of story.

   Anyone can tape a work out and look good. He doesn’t look like a pure shooter to me which Orlando’s desperate for, that’s why I like Dick at 11. I think they try to trade the picks for an established player, with already one of the youngest teams in the league let’s maybe not get another rookie.
