Jalen Brown in 2023 ECF so far: 16.8/5.8/3.5 on .39/.12/.444 splits, 41.4% TS. Dude has been astonishingly awful, and needs to wake up for the Celtics to have any shot of a comeback. Too many iso bricks, turnovers from dribbling, and shit defense.

If JT did this , Twitter would bury him

  2. Coco1520

If we turn this around he has to be the driving force Tatum is doing his part JB wants the 300 mill this is how you earn it

  3. Posted this on my phone, and I misspelled Jaylen.

    Epic fail.

  4. ChipotleGuacamole

JB seems hurt and it’s taking it’s toll on him mentally

  5. archerarcher0

I think something is up with jaylens arm, because he still seems to be finishing well around the basket but his shot has been downright awful

He’s catching a lot of flack but if his shot was going in the turnovers wouldn’t be as big of a deal

  6. Kolzig33189

It’s gotten to the point unless he’s driving and finishing in transition before defense is set, I don’t want the ball in his hands at all. Nothing good comes from it.

  7. freehugandkiss

Almost as bad as Tatum in the finals last year

  8. Jamobill9999

The guy just can’t adjust to zone. His ability to beat his man and take advantage of space underneath is completely eliminated by the zone.. yet he continues to play it the same way; and just runs right into the second layer of the zone defense because there is a guy just waiting there

  9. MarquisJames

“if he he is hurt, we shouldn’t play him” well who the hell else is going to step up in his spot?

  10. I’m willing to accept that he may be hurt but why is he making so many dumb decisions as well? He’s had the IQ of a burned potato in this series

  11. Severe-Brush-1241

He’s been playing like shit for at least the last 6 or 7 games. He’s such a key player to our team…

I hope he steps his game up

  12. PoiZoNxo

Jaylen is a top 15-20 player on the planet. Yeah he’s been ass but a few bad games isn’t gonna change what I think about him

  13. Usual-Cobbler-9121

He wasn’t shit last night, numbers aren’t everything

  14. AmbitionExtension184

He’s gotta be hurt. I’m wondering what brogdon’s excuse is. 6MOY has been a massive liability on the court.

  15. bengcord3

Dude needs to put that fucking mask back on

  16. Calorie_Magic

He got is all nba honors and knows that check is coming

  17. Laszlo-Panaflex

There’s been a moment in every game this series where Slippin’ Jaylen randomly trips and loses the ball, usually causing a turnover.

  18. 42069lover

I get the sense he may be hurt, but a lot of his errors seem to be mental. Overthinking his decisions, jumping in the air before deciding what to do, and falling for pump fakes on defense. Hopefully he can turn things around game 5.

If it’s because he’s hurt then why was he forcing the issue going 1 vs Team all the time? Contact will make it worse.

If it’s because he’s hurt then why is he chucking awful 3s instead of trying to set up other people? Doesn’t take a genius to know your shot will be janky.

If it’s because he’s hurt then why is he having mental lapses on defense? I thought it was his arm not his legs.

Guy’s my second favorite player on the team after Rob but there’s no excusing that level of awfulness. In game 4 he actually fuckin passed the ball instead of chucking, and the team could run a competent offense through it.

  20. youngkenya

His defense was a lot better last night, hopefully he can keep it up if his shot isn’t falling

  21. RepeatDTD

Al was having a bad series until last night, made the adjustments and we got the win. If JB gets back to his game, we smoke these south beach, white-out fools.

  22. downeastsun

On the plus side: Only one turnover last night and you could argue Rob should have caught it. The pass was pretty hot (had to be to get through) from like 6 feet away, but it wasn’t a no hope lame duck or an inexplicable dribbling miscue. There were still defensive mistakes (those two times the Celtics didn’t pick up Jimmy in the 4th quarter might not have been all him, but they also weren’t not on him) but I thought he played with better energy and attention to detail, particularly during the run in the third quarter.

The first 3 games were a nightmare, his shot is all kinds of fucked up, and he couldn’t keep them afloat while Tatum rested but there was much better process in game 4

  23. spkrause

I dunno – he played great D on Harden toward the end of that series, and when he was matched 1:1 with Butler last night, he did a great job staying in front and not going for fakes.

Agree this wasn’t the case so much in games 1-3.

  24. Dudeman-Jack

He’s hurt, they talked about it for like 10 mins last night lol. How are you supposed to shoot 60% with a jacked up shooting arm and hand

  25. TheBoyKane2424

I thought his decision making was much better last night, he’s just off shooting. Need to get him hot the rest of the series.

  26. He was terrible in the first 3 but let’s not forget that without him (and Smart) the Cs lose to Philly in 5 or 6.

Everyone hoping Brown and Smart get traded away will probably regret it when the team runs into the exact same issues without them. Truthfully they would probably be better off elsewhere anyways. Anywhere else, Smart is not a spot up shooter and Brown is probably allowed to play through his mistakes & grow just like Tatum was.

  27. ericdeben

On court communication for everyone has been awful. Many possessions where guys aren’t on the same page.

  28. SmartestMarcus

What I always preach to my 3rd/4th grade girl’s teams is “I can’t be upset if you miss a shot, I will be upset if you don’t try”.

It looks at times Jaylen isn’t even trying, especially on defense.

  29. sluwecki

Name a player in the league dumber than Jaylen Brown. It’s tough

  30. dicholasnolan

If he isn’t getting out in transition he has been so bad. Last night we were humming on offense every time he wasn’t involved. I love JB, I want to resign him, and think his arm could be effecting him, but Joe needs to take him and Brogdon out if they continue to struggle so much early. They are killing our momentum.

  31. TasteCicles

If the shots aren’t falling for you, put all your heart into defense at least.

  32. Is he leveraging for a trade? New contract? There has to be a reason for this; bro is playing like he’s got two left feet and no thumbs

  33. HelloS0n

He had a stretch, I think Q2, where he made good decisions/passes which led to buckets. I was surprised to see that from him.
